Round 1 - Mighty Ducks Vs. Mighty Sharks @ The Duck Pond

Favourite team, IIRC.

 

Mid First Period:

After the early dominance by the Ducks the game has evened out, but both teams are struggling to put on good attacks.

The game is a tale of hits and intercepts with the occasional hospital pass, no one able to get off a good clean shot that would trouble either keeper. Bots has been a one man wrecking machine at the back for the Sharks, he's all over the ducks forwards. We're still 0 - 0, and it doesn't look to be changing too soon.

 

Late First Period:

The Ducks are looking a bit better once more, but the Sharks are defending them well and making it tough.

Nova with the puck passed centre ice, he fires it to Son, Son moving quickly along the boards, but he gets hammered into them by Izett. The puck comes away to Torres though, and he fires a shot but misses the goal completely.

Dafter gets the puck and looks to ice it, but Torres has intercepted it. Dafter looks frustrated as Torres passes it off to his captain, Nova, and Dafter spots it early and cleans Nova up. The attack has broke down once again.

 

Ending 1st Period:

With the period about to end the Ducks have another attack on. Weaver has the puck out wide, going into the attacking zone. He gets a hit from Dafter, but manages to keep the puck. He's looking for space, Bot's is closing him down after Dafter failed to. Weaver fakes the pass to Torres, but Bots hammers him and the puck goes loose...


...To Torres in space! He shoots...




.... It's wide and the period ends.
