Siposs Tactics: - Thompson to #1, Rance #2, Henderson to take resting ruck. If mismatch occurs move Watts back - Reilly to 1st small, Laird to take 2nd small. - Sub Ball in for one the weakest players which fits into the rotation - Mitchell, Rockliff and to a lesser extent Fyfe form a forward rotation - Wright #1 tagger if someone gets loose and Wright isn't dominating forward. Reilly #2 tagger - Westhoff, Thompson and Daniher to form a ruck relief. Thompson to do it if he isn't needed down back/Henderson or Watts to cover, if he is then whichever of the Hoff and Daniher are doing worse fwd. Naitanui to ruck as much as possible though - Send Watts into the middle if a spark is needed - If leaking/the match situation seems like it requires it move Watts into a loose man. If he struggles use Rance - Swallow to run loose.
HT update and this is shaping up to be our first 100 point game of the season. 72 point margin at the half.
Surprised at that one. My defence had been shaky all tournament and my team a little underperforming IMO. Hen's team's been performing well but really that surprises me as Jager drafted a really young team. Thought they'd be around the bottom so i guess this was going to happen eventually. Sent a message there though. Really only 4-5 positions on the park where the Ninjas went into the game with an advantageous matchup which is asking for trouble really.
Says it all really. Might be worth trying to get another ruck in there somehow because McIntosh doesn't have the legs to run 75% of the game in the ruck and at 195cm Daw's a little undersized sometimes.
CPL MVP: 5 - Jack Watts: Had a really good matchup on a smaller bloke and weaker defender with less mobility. Took advantage of it really well with 29 touches, 8 marks, 2.3 and 5 inside 50s 4 - Nat Fyfe: 33 touches, 10 marks, 7 inside 50s and 6 clearances. Dominated. 3 - Rory Thompson: Didn't have a goal kicked on him all day and rebounded really well. 2 - Brad Ebert: 30 touches, 8 marks. Solid game 1 - Matthew Wright: 24 touches, 9 marks and a goal but mainly had the job of tagging Deledio and did it to perfection.
Nah not close. Don't even have him in the votes though it wasn't a dissimilar game to his game in round 2 IRL. Had Joel Patfull or Alex Silvagni resting forward and for a bloke who of all the rucks in the comp actually might have legs as a forward if he couldn't ruck that's an unfortunate matchup. Got a lot of cheap possessions (as did Dawson) because McIntosh sat a kick behind play trying to stop the rout. Had Daw when he was rucking half the time and was beaten by McIntosh when he was rucking. Pretty much was the perfect storm for him to play well, I don't think he really played too well anyway. Dawson was far better.
Wow... That is a bit of a shock tbh, I didn't expect to win but lose by that much after performing well sucks.
