Well Wasim's an opener batting 3, but he was even worse when he was opening. I think they need to drop Wasim for van Zyl. Alternatively they could make Irfan open the batting and pick a 'proper' third seamer.

Yay for winning. Boo at having no idea how due to being on my phone.

Mike Hussey hit 121 in the first innings, then Kaneria took 7/43 in the second. Zaheer bowled well in both innings. Does /cplsite not work on your phone?

So freaking inconsistent...our openers are dire atm.

If either of those ideas works, this is a joke. These guys are quality players being selected in their appropriate role. I'm backing them to succeed (other than Pathan with the ball, that is). van Zyl or Pathan opening should be insanity. This isn't OD cricket. Makes me so annoyed to see this line up fail so badly. Losing is one thing, but getting cremated is another thing. They'd be getting the hairdryer treatment now, that's for fucking sure. Bunch of useless overpaid cunts.

Pathan did open for India on more than a couple of occasions,IIRC

And Alam is not a opener.

I've had this debate with Cribb already, so stop sticking your nose in when I'm grumpy. :disgust:

I wasn't suggesting van Zyl opening; I was suggesting him coming in for Wasim and batting 3, or perhaps pushing Kohli to 3. Pathan opening was just trolling tbh but he's averaging 50 and is basically selected on batting. :p

Lol @ Adams following up a double ton with a 4 ball pair.

Get Albie to open the batting.
