Yeah but it means the difference between people does not become too exaggerated else certain players will become ridiculously good. The difference between Eds in 1st and whoever is in 2nd should be the same as the difference between the guy in 6th and the guy in 7th. It works better as it doesn't particularly encourage mindless spamming for benefit but the long term regular posters will naturally progress to the top of the ranks.
