Would have expected much more from that Vipers batting ITBT.

The Vipers batting isn't that good.

Haha it is. It's just obviously overshadowed by one of the best bowling lineups in CricSim history.

The Allstars, Stingrays, Cyclones and Pumas have all outbatted them this season. They have a good batting lineup but they'd be a decent team at best without that h4x bowling lineup.. like they were last season when they had a better batting lineup than they do now and still only finished third in the regular season.

They've outbatted them because the likes of Verigotta and Morgan have massively overperformed and the likes of Torres, Gee and particularly Luffman have underperformed.

Give me a one-off match and I'd take the Vipers batting over any of those sides. Allstars close though.

Yes, they've outperformed them because they've their batsmen have batted better than the Vipers batsmen. Fancy that!

Luffman has declined and Hughes is batting two places higher than he was at the start of last season. They have a good batting lineup but it certainly strikes no fear into my heart as a bowler - it's roughly as good as a few other sides in the comp. Their bowling lineup on the other hand makes me want to slide down to #10 or so...

Doesn't mean they're better batsmen by any means. Howell has massively outperformed the likes of Deane (with the bat) this season but there's absolutely no way you'd rate Howell in front of him as a batsman.

I'm not saying it's anything nearly as good as their bowling line-up, or up there with the best batting sides ever. I just think you're underrating the batting because the bowling is that good.

I'm just a lot worse now, quite annoying.

I think people do the opposite a bit, and assume they must have the best batting side because they have such a good side overall. Their batting is definitely good, but it's not "ZOMG VIPERS BATTING!" to me, and it doesn't surprise me too much for them to score "only" 940 runs here.

The odds program rates the batting as follows:

    New South Wales - 118.46
    Gamblers - 113.89
    Britain - 112.99
    NSW City - 110.61
    NSW Country - 109.58
    Queensland - 109.43
    Vipers - 108.68
    New Zealand - 108.17
    Ravens - 106.49
    Pumas - 104.13
    Allstars - 103.67
    Cyclones - 103.09
    Sticky Wickets - 101.18
    Asia - 98.08
    Stingrays - 95.53
New Zealand Second XI - 94.31
    Victoria - 94.01
    Crusaders - 92.80
NSW Country Second XI - 85.95
    Somestars - 84.01
    Britain Second XI - 83.84
    Queensland Second XI - 80.45
    Asia Second XI - 79.60
    Cobras - 76.63
    Test Eagles - 75.98
    Victoria Second XI - 75.15
    Punters - 74.85
NSW City Second XI - 73.27
    Brumbies - 72.50
    Knights - 68.25
    Kittens - 67.49
    Kings - 65.12
    Fangs - 64.65

So again, good batting lineup, but nothing awesome, and in fact not even the best out of the BS sides.

One day, an ALC team will beat their BS team.
