Appears Smith has gone fair decent in the past. For some reason i thought we had a plethora of baddies battling for that spot.
Nah Smith half-cemented his spot there last season. Has a better provincial average than you. Dorn's the only bowler in the side with a shit provincial record.
I think part of what made Bots seem especially crap is that he's a defensive minded bowler, which made him pretty unsuited to lead an attack that was full of shunts just starting out therefore inflating his average. The better the bowlers around him are, the better he'll be because he gets to bowl at tailenders sooner. I also think this is one of the main reasons the NZ have never won anything worth noting. They always looked to him to lead the attack and while he was a very good bowler and while he often returned a Economy Rate, he didn't have the overall impact on the rest of the attack that the other strike bowlers around the competition did. Thus now that he has strike bowlers in the NZ team he will make them look exceedingly good even if it means he doesn't reap the rewards
I reckon you'll be out on your arse come the PC if you don't fire with the ball in Jae Taylor. However, I do think you'll fire with the ball in the Jae Taylor.
Well I'm not the selector. But if I was Torres I'd be giving you this series against Britain or fire, and canning you (most likely for Heads) for the PC if you didn't.
Well Heads playing would mean that Ritchie could play as well if he was considered a better bowler than Davis/Smith but in your current role he could never really be a straight swap for you.
RITCHIE ISNT GOING TO PLAY FOR YOU! I'm a little concerned on Heads' bowling, Spose it can't be much worse than yours
Heads got smashed in the ALC which has resulted in him not getting heaps of opportunities with the ball since he got promoted, but every time he's bowled lately he's got key wickets. In his last 9 games (all FC and LA) he's picked up 13 wickets @ 28. http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=896&form=9 It depends a bit on how the rest of the side is going - if you need bowling or batting reinforcements etc - but if Dorn shunted it in the JTC I'd bring Heads in for him for the PC for sure. It'd mean Olsen could slide down to 6 where he bats in the BS and Weaver+the keeper could bat 7 and 8 (in whichever order you like). Obviously having Dorn actually do something would be best but he's been playing long enough now to actually need to start performing in rep cricket beyond a few useful lower order runs IMO.
Only just managing decent BS performances. At least 2 seasons away from provincial glory. Mind you, passed 30,000 now, should get something for that
