This sounds great. Already approached one of my star players for season 2 plus one new fellow. Got to get in early. Looking forward to actually be able to give all the people a go this time. I had promised that when I got a team but didn't realise how important some things will be.
Thinking it might change into pools followed by knock out. Would have 2 groups of 3 randomly picked, they play each other once. Winners play the and place of the other group in a knock out game, the two winners of those play the final.
Mmm....will have to have a think about my offers then, subbies would've played a large part in my decision making process. But of course I'm not gonna leave Canes Edsy.

Yeah these are all things that makes the sims better. I was thinking there should be at least two trials per team (non-live) so you get a chance to make changes for another trial before the season. I found it hard naming a team when I only had a few players that had played.
We could do a similar thing to what CricSim did in a North (Great Britain + Queensland) vs South (New South Wales + New Zealand + Victoria)? We could also do this for Season 1, I guess.
