Season 2 Discussion

Okay just a few things

1) If anyone wants to help with the season there are two or three things that'd really help me out - someone to tally up the goalscoring list from all the games, someone to tally up the MVP votes and someone to select the 'all-australian' team at the end of the season. All of these things I'll do if nobody can help out but they're tedious things that take up time I could spend simming and shit. Let me know if you'd be keen to help me with that.

2) In game injuries will now occur. If one does occur I'll use common sense to work out how to best get around it but just keep it in mind

3) you must have a designated defender, midfielder and forward in your interchange rotation. I don't care if you designate eddie betts as a defender, just make sure they're clearly defined. It makes my life so, so, so much easier and while it might hinder you guys a little, I'm not too fussed for the benefits to me simming outweigh it unfortunately. I will assume that the ruckman rests forward unless otherwise stated. If the bench is not designated with a D/M/F rotation I will assume that it is listed in order of defender, midfielder, forward. No exceptions. If Robbie Warnock ends up playing in defence as a result, it's on you. Fair warning

4) fixture is coming out soon. If there's someone you want to play in round 1 or 9 to open/close the season then let me know as I'm okay with that

5) each team will have a 'bye.' - during the bye round they WILL play the team from the other division that shares the bye. This match WILL count for points although no players will be injured from it. If you draw the top or bottom team from the other division that's just good/bad luck.

6) reserves won't have divisions and reserve teams can be a mixture of div 1 and 2 teams. It'll just be a 9 team comp with a bye. Reserves matches are solely for the purpose of assisting selection so only 18 players may play. If more than 18 players are available (which is unlikely after the first round or two) you may have up to 4 'subs' sitting on the bench to be activated at half time. because reserves is about showing ability and aiding selection in game injuries and fatigue will be turned off.

7) finalise reserve team pairings atm. I don't remember who was with who although I think I was with Nino?

8) each team will have a home ground. I have no idea what effect home grounds have but it's an option in the sim so why not use it. I'd assume that the dimensions of the ground probably matter so teams that play contested footy might like the SCG while outside teams who love space might like subiaco. The options are: AAMI Stadium, MCG, Etihad, SCG, Gabba, Subiaco, Simmonds, Manuka, Visy Park, ANZ Stadium, TIO Stadium, Aurora Stadium

9) players who were drafted late and didn't play a pre season game because of it won't suffer because of it. just common sense

10) for season 2 tactics are fine BUT I will ignore the following instructions: 'player x to take #1/2/3 defender or #1/2/3 small' 'player x to tag most dangerous midfielder' etc. - Do a little research and check who their #1 forward or mid is and specify.... Luke McPharlin to take Charlie Dixon.... Clint Jones to tag Patrick Dangerfield... I don't enjoy having to judge on your behalf who the best forward is as quite often it's a dead heat and one bloke might be marginally better but a clear worse matchup so I go 'do i follow instructions or do what i think is best' - so make those decisions yourself. I'll only make them for you when you name your team first and the player you specify doesn't play through selection/injury - then I'll just use some discretion. Cheers

11) use this thread to finalise your details for the upcoming season. Copy the template if possible. As long as it's all done by the time I go to start the season I'm happy. I just don't want to be chasing anyone up okay!
