Some bands choose not to experiment for the sake of doing so, which I agree with, I understand some bands wanna draw in more fans which is fair but experimenting is not necessarily essential for a band to be pretty good for their career. Depends on what people prefer I suppose. I am for bands willing to try to do something different but sometimes it just fails miserably lol
Not true, Ac/dc have not experimented, whether people think they are overated or not are one of the most successful bands of all time. Pantera are another band who did not experiment and they still have a big fanbase, they succeeded too. Experimentation is totally an optional thing, it is not necessarily essential to a band being successful. Megadeth experimented once, it was a flop so they went back to what worked for them. Depends on the genre too.
AC/DC play classic, timeless rock that was loved by the older generations (our parents, our parents parents etc) and have since been passed down as musical taste is influenced masisvely by our Parents choice in music IMO. It's a little different in their case. Linkin Park have experimented, adapted to changes in the Industry and are proabbly more succesful than they where before
I understand what you are saying I agree with some bands experimenting is what could help them get more fans, and it does depend on the genre. With metal, experimenting more often then not can end up a disaster lol
IMO it's a shit song from a favourite band so it belongs in this thread. Record sales obviously show that many people would disagree but so be it.
Holy shit it is. I'd been meaning to come back on for a while but just didn't happen. How have you been ?
I've got all their albums on rotation in the car and it's one of the only songs I actually skip when it comes on. But yeah a couple of people I know are the same as you.
In My Place - Coldplay (worse song of such a gun album) A Hand to take hold of the scene - Okkervil River
Charmer is pretty much my Kings of Leon highlight out of anything post Aha Shake. Such a gun Pixiesesque song.
It's not their best but it's pretty good. Catchy as though, been stuck in my head since I read Julians post.
Yeah I reckon it just never takes off. Catchy into and then just 4 minutes of lead up verse shit with no catchy chorus or climax.
