    This. Basically key to our season would be getting somebody competent in.

    Otherwise. The two major needs.

    - CB, somebody better than Williamson so we never have to see him again. 2 might be needed since Taylor ends up crocked for too often. (assuming Colo leaves)
    - CF. Cisse does go missing far to often, since he sits so forward. Need somebody that can play deeper. Would be nice if they could convert at a decent rate and were good at corners too.

    A really decent striker

    Maybe another decent creative midfielder

    No major injuries, missed kaboul and sandro.

    WILL GET

    9 midfield players.

    Don't think I rate them any lower than most.

    Some bubbles just need bursting. Arsenal won't sign Bale and they won't win the league next season.

    This. Arsenal really are not a step up anymore. Them being in the Champions League is the big bonus. However he jeopardises his chances at winning trophies in the long term, I don't think playing CL one year earlier would be worth that.

    No but on (b) you've said you might. And you won't. I have nothing against Arsenal, clearly I much prefer them to Chelsea, Citeh or Liverpool. I'm just being realistic here. Arsenal categorically will not win the league next season. It's just wishful thinking to believe otherwise.

    I'm being simplistic re: (a) but it was catchier than saying "Arsenal aren't as big a step up from Spurs as some of Furball's posts suggest".

    I've said I thought 16/1 was longer than it should be.
    I also said that if about a dozen different factors all changed then there might be a chance.

    How are either of those two things at all like saying "we might win the league"?

    Saying 16/1 is too long is the same as saying you have a better than 1 in 17 chance of winning the league, which clearly isn't true.
