Welcome to the newest CricSim Premier League (CPL) cricket side, the Royal Maharajas!! Fulfilling the sovereignty quota of the CPL, the Royal Maharajas promise to bring the style, class & superfluity that only decades of dedicated inbreeding can bring.

    Thus far, the Maharajas have been greatly pleased with how player draft has proceeded, and are proud to introduce the following players as the names that will be representing this noble club;

    1. Shivnarine Chanderpaul
    2. Shane Bond
    3. Ryan Sidebottom
    4. Simon Katich
    5. Brendan McCullum
    6. Alastair Cook
    7. Morne Morkel
    8. Murali Kartik
    9. Michael Di Venuto
    10. Mark Ealham
    11. Mark Cosgrove
    12. George Bailey
    13. Shoaib Malik

The Royals would also like to take this time to inform their fans of a amazing promotion being run in conjunction with our wonderful sponsor, Burger King,

whereby every fan can become a Royal Maharaja for a day! All that is required is for a Burger King customer to present their Royal Maharaja matchday ticket at the time of purchase of a Large Super Crispy Bacon Royal Maharaja Burger Combo (RRP $15.95), explain in 25 words or less why they are the greatest Royal Maharaja fan ever, and then simply sign up to a Royal Maharaja season membership, in order to receive their very own Royal Maharaja crown, complete with how-to-cut-out instructions!!

So get cracking guys, we look forward to seeing you at our matches in the upcoming season!

What about the 6 people that died after eating the Maharajah Burger?

  3. Luffers JRE Luffman

Looks a good team to me.

  4. Bedsey JB Dempsey

They're used to make more Maharajah Burgers.

Those people clearly lacked the necessary nobility to ingest the raw "Royalty-ness" that is contained within each and every Royal Maharajah burger, and thus were not true Royal Maharajah fans. With this in mind, I'm sure we can all agree that the deaths of those children weren't entirely the fault of the burgers, and should in no way effect The Royal Maharajas commitment to replacing every school tuckshop with a Burger King.

    1. Cook
    2.
    3. Katich
    4. Chanderpaul
    5.
    6.
    7. McCullum
    8. Morkel
    9. Kartik
    10. Bond
    11. Sidebottom

Looking pretty good IMO. No-one you'd call an allrounder in that lot though - Katich as fifth bowler and Morne Morkel batting 8 could be classed as weak points.

  7. Luffers JRE Luffman

Gonna struggle on the batting front IMO, but a strong bowling attack will balance that up TBH

  8. Farny AP Farnsworth

I think there's the nucleus of a good batting side there. As Rob said, only think to criticise is the balance.

  9. Luffers JRE Luffman

Yeh but if the opposition get a few quick wickets there's no-one to hold the fort.

  10. Farny AP Farnsworth

Chanderpaul = best fort holder ever. He'll fill the rest of the line-up well.

This is just plain wrong. Chundercats is there to hold together the middle order, and of course the rest of the middle order looks weak when he hasn't filled 5 & 6 yet! Crikey.

  12. Luffers JRE Luffman

    I meant lower down, 7,8.

Obviously Chanderpaul is good at sticking in but McCullum isn't exactly a blocker and Morkel averages about 15, most other teams have someone in the twenties/thirties at 8.

So, by a "few quick wickets" you mean 6 wickets then :p

A weak lower order for sure, but if he comes up with good picks for 5 & 6, it shouldn't be a problem.

This team looks like it could be good. 1 more decent bat and it will gun.
