It sneaks up on you, doesn't it? I've got close a couple of times without realising. My 89* came in a T20 game after I went in in the 10th over. Got a message at the start of the 20th that I was close but could only get a couple of singles
Mine was 87(61) Went from 50 to 8 in the space of about 10 balls without really noticing. Getting bowled for 48 in the last game I played of last summer sucked balls too.
There's something infinitely frustrating about getting out when you're 'in'. Perhaps you'd best ton up this weekend then; must be first proper game of the season over there soon?
Had a friendly last Sunday and got run out for 21(27).. that sucked. Hopefully playing on Saturday in another friendly. Then I shoot up to Uni again on Sunday. Friendlies on the 20th/21st League at Uni starts on the 27th League back home starts first weekend of May
Still a couple of weeks to find top form then. Though I often find I hit it better straight after winter when I just watch the ball and try pump it and forget about technique. What level of cricket are you playing mate?
Yeah, I know exactly how you mean. I play all my best cricket when it's care free and I just go out and bat and bowl. All the problems increase tenfold when there's too much going on upstairs. At Uni I'm hoping to play for the club's 1st XI in the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire First XI Second Division. Back home I flitter between the 2nds/3rds/4ths. Have the option on the table to captain the 4ths when I get back from Uni but we'll wait and see about that one. You play a decent standard?
Oh nice, sounds like you've got plenty of cricket ahead of you at least. Yeah I play in the top grade where I live as well as for my province back at home (kinda the equivalent of the minor counties thing in England). And play for the 2nd XI of the province where I study - I guess it's basically like playing for a county second team, although the 2nd XI structure over here is absolutely terrible compared to England and Australia.
Jesus, sounds like you can play a bit then. Going to assume you're a spin bowler in real life too? Does that mean you're basically the rung below FC atm?
Yup I certainly am a spin bowler, though I'm a slightly better bat in real life than my record on here indicates Yeah I guess I am but probably not as close as that makes it sound. If the spinners in the FC side all got injured I'd be in with a shout. Hoping to get a crack in the next season or two.
I've got so many questions How old are you pal? With the bat are we talking Broad or Siddle or Steyn or etc etc? I mean occupy the crease or a bit of a dasher and how much is slightly better? Was quite weird facing Kain, he was just bowling darts though. Didn't turn it at all. First couple of balls were weird, having to wait a bit longer than usual. I did manage to hit him over his head for 4 so I was stoked with that. Yeah, I play with Knowlesy up here for club. Fair to say he is a loose cannon. Absolute mad man on the piss.
