Honestly it wasn't like Heef's. Didn't have the start that heefs did, didn't keep me interested, and used too many "big words" that added nothing. Heef used the words with effect, that's the difference.

Yeah I'd be willing to contribute a chunk as well.

I think you're just reading to much into my Cult of Personality ;)

I don't think Golding has been overly ornate with the language at all. I thought it was a good, easy-going read really.

Think Golding's being hard done by through the Heef comparisons.
There aren't many writers as gifted as Heef on internet cricket forums, so if everyone is going to be compared to the great man then there are going to be quite a few disdainful comments bandied about.
Heef is a fantastic writer and I think we've all come to recognise that, I just feel that each article/writer should be judged on its/their own merits.
Lest us forget that Heef is also (I would guess) considerably more experience in writing than the vast majority, hope you don't mind me saying so :p
Personally I thought it was a fair effort from Chris, I enjoyed it. Fell just short of "very good' for my money, not entirely sure why. Still enjoyed it, as I'vealready said.

"Big Words" WTF are you on about? If you think the words in there are big go back to ****ing school and learn how to read again.

Exactly what I was going for. The article is about Heef, not written by him or in his style so there's no point in comparing it, you can't even compare the people it's about as they're both completely different.

Good article, CCG. Very enjoyable read.

I would also donate as well, as no doubt a few others would. We will have to see what Rob has to say about it.
