I am of the genuine opinion that they should have secretly put an age limit on voting so nobody who wasn't at least alive in 1993 couldn't vote. 17 year olds voting for songs like big jet plane and brother pisses me off a bit.

    Haha, best idea.

    Dog cunts :p

In other news, Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley drops from number 3 in the all time list of 2009 where it was actually the highest placed song of the past 20 years, to number 36 now.

    /facepalm

Ruins the credibility of the Hottest 100's a little bit.

Doesn't mean we couldn't have heard songs from '93 though.

    Yeah, that's fucked.

  7. morgieb MC Burridge

Yeah that was pretty surprising. Most of my spies speculated that Hallelujah's re-release helped his 2009's position somewhat.

Not a lot of Jeff Buckley love compared to 2009 it seems.

    Indeed.

If I actually voted on the best 20 songs from the past 20 years rather than doing it year-by-year, most of my songs would've been released in earlier countdowns.

Could be because of that, or it could be because of the retards going "Who's Jeff Buckley? I'm voting for San Cisco!1!!!1! YAAAY I LOVE YOU TRIPLE J!!!!!!111!!!1!!"

lol, here's another song that placed way higher in 2009 than now.

This countdown's gone to shit. Hopefully the 2019 (or whenever they do an all-time countdown again) is good.

Yeah, but justice will prevail when Paranoid Android gets to number 1.

Oh and I hope Everything In Its Right Place gets a look in too.

No offence to those that like it but it always kinda bugs me that Brick is Ben Folds's biggest song.

rocking the suburbs for the win :P

Oh since we were on the topic of both Matt Corby and Jeff Buckley before, Matt Corby = poor (and I mean really poor) man's Jeff Buckley.

I hope Mr Corby decides to go swimming in a river sometime.

I dig Matt Corby. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate other greats though.

History kind of increases a songs greatness. They need time to establish themselves as these elite songs. I try to not fall into time biases as really, there are probably just as many worthy songs from 93 as '12

Yeah I feel like they should do this countdown in 5 years time, when songs from 2013/2012 have had time to settle in peoples minds and they realise whether it was just a catchy song or if it is a great song.

  18. Number 11 CJ Downes

    Zombie at 33 is bullshit.

  19. TBra TJ Bradford

    Californication at number 30. NICE!
