Swing and a miss. Thinking Ponting is over-rated is forgivable. But thinking I'm over-rated is just plain stupid.
TBH, I think Ponting is actually underrated around most of the world. He deserves to be up there with Tendulkar and Lara, but doesn't really get that kind of credit.
Because he has been in batting line ups with people like Hayden, Langer, Martyn and the Waugh brothers plus more.. Where Lara and Tendulkar have had mainly retards around them....
Yeah Tendulkar has had some quality around him like Dravid and Laxman etc. Lara has had nothing but shit.
Did you just mention Gayle as a good test option? People are forgetting that Lara retired from test cricket in 2006. A lot of players were shit in his day and were only in the side because of potential/lack of options.
Gayle has been a great test batsman at times. Better than Hooper, who you seem to rate. Averages to confirm, I expect.
I mentioned that he made a big score occasionally, never said he was a good test option. Lara played with decent players early in his career didn't he?
