Azhar Ali joins the team on the back of a lovely 103 against SL today, our first batman for the Wildcats top order.
Stiffening up the top order, and providing a valuable keeping cover, it's Quinton de Kock. 1. Azhar Ali 2. Q de Kock 3. 4. AG Prince 5. 6. 7. MJ Prior (wk) 8. TT Bresnan (c) (1) 9. 10. DW Steyn (2) 11. SC Kerrigan (4)
Umadkatz are hoping to keep de Kock under wraps this season. Could prove costly if he's able to penetrate.
Leicestershire batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan is the next man in, providing an ability to bat in most places down the order, as well as some handy part time spin. However he'll be batting at 3 for us. 1. Azhar Ali 2. Q de Kock 3. RR Sarwan (6) 4. AG Prince 5. 6. 7. MJ Prior (wk) 8. TT Bresnan (c) (1) 9. 10. DW Steyn (2) 11. SC Kerrigan (4)
David Masters completes our main bowling attack after being completely h4x with the ball over the past three seasons, enabling us to run through most teams with ease hopefully. 1. Azhar Ali 2. Q de Kock 3. RR Sarwan (6) 4. AG Prince 5. 6. 7. MJ Prior (wk) 8. TT Bresnan (c) (3) 9. DW Steyn (1) 10. DD Masters (2) 11. SC Kerrigan (4)

Quinton's been utterly gun over the past year in the real stuff, tbf. Averaged 46ish last season which is amazing for the SA league, I'd be surprised if 5 guys averaged over 40.
We've definitely got a stronger bowling attack than a batting line up, but I certainly if you go off the stats, I think Prior and Ali lose out from not playing much/any FC stuff.
Yeah, seeing as Prior/Ali have basically just been playing tests, they're going to look a little worse. Sarwan didn't have a great season last season or play much, year before he was great though. Prince is gun, de Kock has potential. Not the worst out there imo. But who needs a good batting lineup when you can skittle the opposition every time :ninja:
Yeah but I felt the batting was weak before I saw the stats. De Kock will be much weaker than he actually is in this - he has one year of proper first class cricket behind him - he'll be a batting version of Cummins, only a bit better as he has the prank stuff. Beyond that you have two past-it batsmen (although in fairness Prince has been decent lately) and an average Test batsman. You don't have anyone you can really rely on for big runs, I feel - although that can be expected given you've completed your bowling attack. We're largely similar but the opposite. (Though our bowling is sex atm with Philander/Birch :ninja: )
