    Neither do I...

    first start :toot:

Shitty game first up. Need to mix things up a bit lineup wise.

Only people who have impressed as a Wildcat so far are Warrington and Goldenhaus. Both to start next game imo.

Tiger was good on debut too.

    Game 1 vs Bandits:

    Chad Dyer:

Not the worst outing first up. 10 points with 4/9 shooting and 3 rebounds. Not the worst in a relative sense but pretty one dimensional performance.

    Arbitrary rating: 5.5/10

    Bruce Force:

Not a great performance from the team captain. 3/5 shooting was just about the only thing he had going for him. Got beaten on the boards and had 5 turnovers. Doesn't look like he had much of a clue on the court. Doesn't look like he did much on the defensive end either.

    Arbitrary rating: 3.5/10

    Tom Delonge:

Shooting 30% isn't great for someone who is an inside scorer primarily. Did lead the team on rebounds but also had 5 turnovers.

    Arbitrary rating: 4/10

    Johnny Ridd:

Doesn't look like his teammates helped him a whole lot with getting him good looks. One of our best outside shooters went 2 from 5. 5 rebounds isn't too bad considering how the team as a whole wasn't great on the glass. A couple of dimes too.

    Arbitrary rating: 5.5/10

Mike Martyn: Didn't shoot well but he's not the best outside shooter. 4 assists, no turnovers, 3 steals and a couple of boards. The better of the two point guards for sure.

    Arbitrary rating: 5.5/10

    Bench:

    Clayton Evans:

Didn't shoot well, did nothing on the glass. Looks like he did more on defence than offense, which is expected but you really need a better performance from him offensively.

    Arbitrary rating: 4/10

    Chris Warrington:

10 points, 6 boards and 3 blocks. Pretty decent performance from who looks to be the Wildcats' most promising player. On a relative scale, that's a 10/10 performance but that's more of a reflection on his teammates.

    Arbitrary rating: 7.5/10

    Chris Lewis:

Could have built a house for the Wildcats to hide in with all the bricks he threw up. Lead the team on assists but 3 turnovers from a playmaker isn't too great.

    Arbitrary rating: 3.5/10

    Quentin Goldenhaus:

Looked promising in his lone preseason game and looked decent here too coming off the bench and leading the team on points. Shot decently and didn't bother to pass because everyone else sucked.

    Arbitrary rating: 6/10

    Teddy Tiger:

Was better than most on his debut which is promising signs. 4/7 shooting isn't bad at all. 3 boards as well.

    Arbitrary rating: 6/10

TL;DR: We are not very good.

    WAG effort from Teacups though.

  7. Mike ML Martyn

Cribb just needs some furniture now. He can start with the bench :ninja:

  8. AVA T Delonge

Don't make him move it himself though. Nothing will get done for 2 years

    F Tiger
    C Warrington

Should be the starters for next game imo. Slightly bigger lineup with Tiger coming in for Force at 4. Force did well in preseason against the Gangsters so this was probably an anomaly. Alternatively we can have Dyer in at 3 but I think this is probably better.

With Ridd out of the starting lineup, it's important to get Tiger in there and he can stretch out the opposition defence. Goldenhaus looks to be a great scorer but is pretty small and has weak rebounding so Force at 3 should help compensate for that. Outside shooting threat from Goldenhaus and Tiger and the rest can score inside so we don't look too one dimensional like last game with Riddy being our only decent outside shooter and him only taking 5 shots.

Teacups WAG for pulling all that together.

Our starters definitely putting up worse performances in general than our bench. My hope is that by the time things start to become a bit clearer in three or four games time, we'll actually have started putting in some decent performances.

    Yeah AWTA.

Might be worth putting it into game instructions to work to try and get our scorers some more open looks?

    Lewis injured as well.

  12. Rikkomas QG Goldenhaus

Rebounding is an issue for now; maybe we should focus on making the shots instead of chasing high balls

Also we have much less attempt than other teams; how do you read these figures? we leave too many second chances?

  13. Weeman27bob BE Force

I suspect it's probably a combination of not rebounding well enough (Bandits had ~7 more offensive rebounds than we did) and a few too many turn overs.

  14. Riddy JH Ridd

    dropped :(

  15. Teacups CJ Evans

Yeah I was thinking about maybe going for an extra pass mentality but judging by our turnover numbers, how much most players in the sim suck in general and given our lack of playmakers, it might not be the best option.

The lineup above has 3 strong rebounders in Warrington, Force and Tiger and Delonge off the bench. Has a good balance of outside and inside shooters. We really lack a 2 or 3 that can handle the rock though and that could be another reason for the turnovers. We rely on Cribb and Martyn to be our primarly ballhandlers and we have no secondary. It's especially a problem now that one of them is out. Riddy probably to be our ball handler when Martyn is off for the next round but it's not ideal.

I don't think being dropped matters all that much in BBall; you'll get a similar number of minutes anyway.

    Good to be here.

    Playmaking 2 guard :toot:

Particularly important with Cribb out for the next game.

Hopefully can fill in with little disruption.
