If you could make up your own band/group and put anyone in their from music past/current. What would your group/band be like. I would love to see this: Dave Grohl (Vocals) Tres Cool (Drums) Slash & Brian May (Axe Men) The good thing about Grohl is, he can do all three really well. Be interested to see other peoples lineups.
Vocals: Freddie Mercury and Corey Taylor Lead: James Hetfield Drums: Travis Barker Bass: Brian 'Head' Welch
Bono The Edge Adam Clayton Larry Mullen, Jr. srsly though, I cant see past Barker on the drums, and currently have NFI who else id have
Vox: Kurdt Cobain Rhythm Guitar: Rivers Cuomo Lead Guitar: Jimmy Hendrix Bass: Paul McCartney Drums: Dave Grohl Lol at every member being capable of vox and guitar
For a rock band, playing today... Vocals/Rhythm: James Hetfield Lead: Tom Morello Bass: Flea Drums/backing vocals: Dave Grohl
Yeah, I wasn't totally sure about Flea...he's not really rock enough, but I wanted someone that could play slap bass.
Grace Slick (Vocals) Jimi Hendrix & Keith Richards (Guitar) Paul McCartney (Bass) Michael Shrieve (Drums) Absolutely no idea what this band would sound like. Morrison, Joplin, Santana and a few others to unfortunately miss out.
Robert Plant - Vocals Mick Taylor - Lead(Insanely good and the Stones would not have stagnated from the mid-70s if Richards did not constantly pick fights with him and force him to leave imo) Paul McCartney - Bass Kieth Moon - Drums
Only just picked up on this, because I'm tired as ****. I guess you wouldn't want a bass player in your band then?...
Vocals: Phil Collins Guitar: Mark Knopfler/Peter Townsend Backing Vocals: Roger Daltrey/Bono/Noddy Holder Backing Dancers: Lily Allen/The fat one off glee Drums: Keith Moon Basist: Flea (RHCP) Tambourine: Brett Gemmel
Including dead artists... Vocals/Guitar: John Lennon Vocals/Bass Guitar: Paul McCartney Lead Guitar: George Harrison Drums: Phil Collins Piano: Freddie Mercury Only Including alive artists: Vocals: Van Morrison Vocals/Lead Guitar: Barry Gibb Bass: Paul McCartney Drums: Levon Helm Piano: Billy Joel As you can see, I consider song writing the driving force and chief property of a truly great band. Obviously one could go for Hendrix, Knopfler, Gilmour and Clapton, or Baker, Bonham and Moon, but I don't rate their song writing as highly as the others. It has to do with dynamics too - Hence me dropping Collins for the second band even though he's obviously still alive. Just for those who are unfamiliar with Levon Helm...Drummer from The Band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMHyovwX7JM
Some awesome combinations in this thread already. We have been arguing about this at work all day today. Quite a few of the 'dead' guys making peoples lists. Freddy Mercury would be so awesome in some of these lineups. Quite like Boobs lineups.
