Would this not make the paying out for vCash illegal, without some form of gambling license?

How's it any different then betting on simulated (and sometimes real) sport?

You do realise if you're under 10 you can't go bust don't you? Since ace is worth 11 (or 1)

    Legal and illegal gambling

Gambling is legal if it’s permitted under the GAMBLING ACT 2003 or the RACING ACT 2003, or if it is private gambling.

    "Private gambling" means gambling:

that is at a private home, and
that is mainly a social event or entertainment, and
where all the stakes placed are paid out to the gamblers as winnings
Bookmaking and "remote interactive gambling" (Internet gambling) are illegal forms of gambling.

Yeh like having a home game of poker.

  6. Rego RS Hutchinson

I dunno. We're not at home. We're online and there is bookies....

  7. Colesy BL Hornby

I was agreeing with u.. having a home game of poker where cash is involved is illegal.

  8. Rego RS Hutchinson

Nah it's legal (in NZ anyway) it's considered as private gambling.

Keen for this. Providing no-one actually gets money from this, it's definitely not illegal.

  10. AVA T Delonge

vCash is worth money though, so they can theoretically get money out of this.

  11. loganb JEM Logan

Yes, theoretically. But if no-one actually does, then what's the problem? Either way, if, in the unlikely event that someone did accumulate enough to actually gain some money from it, it's not as though when the money is put into someone's bank account, it's going to be labelled as "money from illegal online gambling" is it?

I don't think there needs to be any worrying about legality of this going on tbh.

  12. Chewie JA Chewie

If it was illegal, no one would care tbh.

Keen to join the house Flack.

It's not illegal because essebtially Cribb is giving money away, and we're not allowed to 'buy' credits.

  16. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

You basing that on what you see in American movies?

  17. Callum CJ Laing

The server providers probably would tbh.

  18. Colesy BL Hornby

It's true cunt. I've been at a home game before were the cops were called due to a noise complaint and they asked us what we were playing for. And looked around for the cash. It's illegal. Guarantee it.

  19. Callum CJ Laing

Yeah it is illegal. Any venue where cash is trading hands through gambling, where there is not a license for it, is breaking the law.

  20. Colesy BL Hornby

You can't even play poker for cash in pubs in qld.
