You shouldn't have to be an astounding player; it should also come down to the contributions you've made to the sim (eg. running awards nights, etc, etc) and how long you've been around, too.
Not that way, i mean like Wilson has been an outstanding Spinner for ages, where Hunt is just a pie chucker.
Ah for sure - thing is, it then goes back to statistics in many ways as a way of measuring their excellence. I think Cribb and maybe 2 others who have been around forever could try and agree on a shortlist of maybe 10 players, and then someone from each club votes on who should be the inaugural inductees (maybe 3?). After that, one per season to keep the HoF very exclusive. Is that a decent idea for a way to run it?
I think we're looking at making it a little more exclusive, maybe only three or so inductees at the start and then one each season, something like that.
It should also take into account off-field exploits afaic. Basically, it should be a list of those that have had the greatest influence on Cricsim being what it is today. Note. This would also give me a much greater chance of making it.
Nah. I did open the batting for a period though in season 2 or 3 but I was always a pure bowler. Hit a ton in Reggies opening too.
What have you contributed to Cricsim being what it is today. You complain about what Cricsim has become.
