In. If someone hasnt posted their lineup when youre ready to sim just replace their injured player with a like for like player, no one will care, they'll be happy it was simmed
Gonna do injuries and match threads for round 7 now even though i've got two round 6 matches left. will do them first up tomorrow but just doing the injuries etc. now so there are lineups done asap y'know. obv. the players who get injured in this upcoming update are injured for rd 7, not rd 6 (for those yet to play rd 6: harps/masters/paul/me) if a player who didn't play accidentally falls into there (it'd be my fault) just let me know.
How would we feel about expanding the player pool to include formerly listed players? It'd be 100% subjective ratings (i.e. in the inevitable situation where Theo picks Richo I'd have to try and work out where he'd be (I'm guessing fucking shit unfortunately) but there'd probably be some players who'd be somewhat relevant still, i.e. brennan/leon davis/krakouer etc. would probably only add 5-10 best 22 standard players and another 20-30 depth standard players to the player pool and it'd be highly subjective on my part but I thought I'd see if people wanted it.
Like it. If we're extending to 20 we probably need to have ex-AFL players available to pick, otherwise we're probably picking players who have never been footballers and never will.
Let people pick whoever they like IMO. Formerly listed players, SANFL players, VFL players, whoever. Create them on demand once they're picked. If people want to pick players who aren't listed, they leave themselves open to your whims, and that's a gamble they have to decide whether they want to take or not. They can't really complain if it backfires.
Yeah I do get that but there'll inevitably be people who pick blokes from the VFL then complain if they're shit. But yeah that's certainly what I'm looking at. Can't say I've watched much VFL but I do read the stats and know the players to a level where I could produce an okay profile of them, I guess.
That's their own fault though. Think it'd be fair enough to people to PM you before making your pick asking you if you knew much about Player X and whether or not you'd be comfortable creating them. Probably only talking about picks in the last couple of rounds anyway. I think it adds a touch of realism if you let people sign whoever they like. In a world where CPL was real and acted as a rebel offseason competition or had replaced the AFL entirely, teams wouldn't be bound to only sign players who had also signed AFL contracts.
Yeah that's why I kind of started thinking it anyway. Feel it'd be more realistic. and 95% of times people would be disadvantaged by it anyway but why regulate when there's no real need to.

yeah, you could, but i'd look upon it as a non-serious pick and it'd be the kind of shit that made this not really worth doing if it people in general started picking lockett and mousey for the lols.
