Thought a new thread might be in order as I want to discuss it but it's difficult to do so without completely spoiling every episode for those who wish to watch it in the future. If that's you I wouldn't read my next post
Seriously just wow in that finale. Does anyone survive? Abigail! If nobody survives how do you just rebuild the cast? Mads Mikkelsen is very much nearing or passing Hopkins territory in his portrayal of Lecter. That episode was some of the best acting I've ever seen That screenplay too. The music, the slow motion. Everything. The dialogue. Du Maurier too, what was her role in it all? I just don't know So many questions. Fuck waiting 9 months for answers. Genuinely the best show on television. That episode rivals Ozymandias from breaking bad imo
yeah was a great final the after credits scene leaves a lot of questions. as for whos dead id say Will has to survive as hes ultimately the one to catch Hannibal? Abigal being still alive (albeit for a minute) made me actually let a very audible WTF, lol
Yeah Abigail being alive was good. But I can't say I'm entirely surprised. Of all the things that happened in that ep that was one of the least surprising things for me, really.
I was reading an article with the creator and he said that season two will be like a completely new start. He also said we will have to wait until episode 2 to find out who survived that.
I've been avoiding this thread like the plague cause I want to get into this show as I am a huge fan of SotL and Red Dragon (the others not so much ). I read SotL in yr 11 for an English assignment and it got me hooked on the Character. I assumed a series based on Hannibal would be a bit shit and simply a get-rich scheme by a bunch of Hollywood suits. Anyway; does it go alright?
Yeah it is fucking awesome. Everything about it from the acting to the absolutely graphic and disgusting detail they go to, to get their point across is brilliant.
Jazman strongly recommend you post about this in the TV show you just watched thread as we'll discuss it there no spoilers. But I'm about to post massive spoilers so I suggest you don't read this if you open the thread Who do you guys reckon ends up dead? I think Jack and Will survive and Alana and Abigail die. I can't see any of them surviving with their injuries but it's TV. Just too much of a void is left by Will's death as it leaves a gaping hole in the Red Dragon storyline (which may I add is excellent) next season. Jack's too iconic from Silence of the Lambs to cull and Lawrence Fishburne is just too good. I wouldn't be surprised if he was dead but I don't think he is.
will survives Alana dies paving the way for clarice to be eventually introduced (even if its still a couple of seasons away)
Can we please not post book spoilers. I think there is no doubt that Will is alive and Hannibal would expect him to be. I almost wish that Will had agreed to go with Hannibal and see where that took them. Like I said in the other thread I just loved how it was the first time you saw Hannibal kill purely off such high emotion. I doubt we will ever see that again.
By the way the scene a couple of episodes ago with Mason Verger ripping his face off and feeding it to the dogs was one of the most fucked up yet amazingly awesome scenes I have ever seen. I couldn't watch yet I couldn't look away at the same time.
