Btw love Scotty Drinkwater. Has been causing some real trouble for teams around the ruck area.

Wonder how long until Bulldogs sack Ciraldo and hire Peter Wallace

I think Penrith will win it again. 3 in a row will make them the greatest team in the modern era. But i dont feel like they are for some reason.

The fact they're still dominating easily enough with Cleary out, no Kikau, multiple diff player changes says something. They did however look a little bit weaker at the start of the season. Souths are the obvious other contender. I don't think Brisbane or Melb will compete with those two when it counts. I still maintain Parra as the only dark horse.

I never thought they would miss Kikau that much. I am, however, surprised how dominant they've been without Koroisau. And yeah their form without Cleary is super impressive.

I agree with you and I think the reason is the other sides over the past 3 years aren't up to scratch.

When the other sides that have even a sniff of a chance of winning the comp are:
A Broncos team that struggle with consistency, spooned 3 years ago, hasn't made finals for 4 years and were bundled out of Finals contention last year with 5 straight losses. Inconsistent Souths and Eels sides that have both win and loss streaks within 3 months of footy and a Sharks side that can't beat a top 8 team.

I reckon those other 4 sides would be fighting over 7th and 8th between 2015 and 2020.

It does seem a repeat of last year with pretty mediocre, rival contenders. I think if Mitchell plays Souths win the 2021 GF too.

Still this year would make 4 straight GF's with a roster that doesnt seem that impressive.

They got lucky in 2021. Walking wounded and got Parra on a dubious call, then Storm luckily got Welch and maybe Cheese injured if I'm remembering right.

Still though if they make a 4th straight gf it'll be hard to argue.

Edit: the other part that over shadows it a bit I think has been how many of them haven't stepped up to origin. When storm were right up or Roosters you had Cronk, Smith etc dominating origin which I think added to the air of superiority

Tigers show any signs of life last night?

    without brooks they've scored 6, 0 and 12

Funny thing about it is I imagined they might have responded to that 66-16 but never took it personally to the point of Payten plastering the scoreline around their training facilities. Lol The Tigers were fucked before kick off. Kind of wish NQ would have taken some of their defeats like the 44-6 to Sharks just as personally. They probably wouldn't have had 66 put on them if they had.

Was probably more the fact they hit rock bottom by losing to the spooners in that fashion.

Isaako's been quite good this year but fmd he was awful tonight. Dolphins needed that win.

Refs finally had the balls to call an offside in those circumstances but they'd better be consistent with that shit.

  16. Magic AJ Parker

I went back and looked at all 3 field goals, players offside in all of them. No doubt the one that was awarded was the worst of the lot, was a good 4m offside by the time the ball cleared the ruck.

You cant blow a penalty after a successful field goal. Only a miss, which is paradoxical.

They literally cant blow them or they just play advantage first?

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yeah you play advantage, but also, you always play to the greatest advantage. A field goal is money in the bank whereas a penalty offers an attempt at points so even though a penalty goal is worth two, a completed field goal has to stand.

For example. The referee could theoretically blow the pen when the ball is being kicked, or in the air, before it goes through. But the kicker was 35m out and near the sideline. It goes through but the ref blows a pen so it comes back. And then the goal kicker misses the penalty goal attempt, and it costs them the game.

So you want a potential 3 point field goal introduced?
