Oh there's plenty of people upset about it but 100% them live on their keyboards and need to go to bed.

Daley's gonna walk away or get sacked if NSW lose this series.

lol as predicted, JT has changed his mind. Wants to play on for QLD to 2018. Smith, Cronk and Thurston all saying they want to continue for several years. Nice.

  4. Wilson SB Wilson

Why wouldn't you when you get that amount of money per game. Fucking stupid to retire until you're pushed.

  5. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well for the same reason Gallen won't be playing Origin next year. Club loyalty. Gallen has missed a lot more footy than Thurston though.

I haven't seen anybody actually complain.

    Bring back Waldo.

Gallen's not playing because he'll know he won't have a contract if he does.

  9. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yeah probably. And he's choosing to repay Cronulla's loyalty to him. There are a lot of people who don't want him playing Origin because of how much footy he's missed for the Sharks. It's all about longevity.

Shame Cordner is out for Game 2. He was one of their best. Surely Daley will shift Bird and not bring in Hoffman or Scott.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

More chance of him bringing in Frizzell IMO.

  12. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well you'd think so given he was 18th man but he plays right side.

I want Cartwright to come in and defend next to Maloney.

I'd like to know exactly how hampered Wade Graham is by niggling injuries. He's capable of producing a barry crocker in defence.

Agreeing with MF about too many big men. I'd drop one of Woods and Tamou. Probably Woods honestly. And I definitely wouldn't pick Wade Graham.

Now that Cordner is out, Bird should spend all his minutes in the second row.. and given that I don't think four big men is too much tbh.

  17. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh no issues with 4 big men, my issue is that they're all just far too similar style & Fifita shouldn't be anywhere near Origin.

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

    5 big men including Gallen.

Fifitas the point of difference IMO.

I don't have a problem with 4 big men plus Gallen as long as Bird plays all his minutes on the edge. That's what I picked for Game 1 (though I had Merrin instead of Fifita). But it's just a waste to have those 5 and then still using Bird (and Walker) in the middle. It doesn't make any sense. You don't need 6 middle third players plus a utility, covering 3 positions. It's total overkill and every cunt just ends up with dramatically reduced minutes.

This is the side I would pick for Game 2.

    1.Moylan
    2.Mansour
    3.Jennings
    4.Dugan
    5.Ferguson
    6.

    8.Woods
    9.Farah
    10.Tamou
    11.Bird
    12.Frizell
    13.Gallen (c)

    14.Peachey
    15.Klemmer
    16.Merrin
    17.Cartwright

I still have no idea what I'd do with the halves. Maloney sort of has to be retained but it's difficult to see him and Austin working. Reynolds has to go though. It's just not possible to carry a halfback who cannot pass or run.

And I fully expect Dugan/Ferguson to get found out but Morris has to go and I'm far from sold on Leilua or anyone else mentioned here. Gotta admit the idea of, at some point in the match, having Cartwright/Dugan/Ferguson defending the right side does make me shudder.

Agree 100% with the starting pack. I wouldn't revert to Merrin though.

I'd drop both centres. Bird to right Centre and Leilua to left Centre. We absolutely have to take a risk I this regard.
