Being shifted for Copley too :hughesy:

Not kidding about Grant btw. He's a fucking gun.

Looks a real talent but it’s traditionally proven a hard position to maintain performance.

So many hookers have burst onto the scene over the last decade and really struggled to hold their level of performance/develop their game.

It’s why so many clubs just seem to just settle for an excellent defender with passable service. IMO it’s the combination of the position requiring such a well rounded set of skills along with oppositions defences doing so much work around marker to target individual players that makes it such a hard position to master.

A handful of games in that position to date proves absolutely nothing, certainly not anything worthy of SOO selection.

Both Grant and Walters are a little too slow off the ground and too often engage the markers at the wrong times.

Grant has excellent vision once running though and shows a lot of poise, a trait no doubt acquired under Smith's tutelage. I favour Turpin at this stage but they're both future prospects. Not this year.

Lindsay Collins getting his name thrown around for Origin.

Love the way he plays would be good to see him in Origin but again needs to prove a little more for mine.

Really struggled with his hands and defence in his first 2 years. Seems to have genuinely improved rather than just run into a good patch of form so not really doubting him but still think he needs to prove himself with some consistent performances for the rest of the year.

In Qld's favour he seems to be a bit of a favourite of Robb's. He's cut minutes from JWH, Liu and Butcher over the past fortnight to get Collins some more time so it's in his hands now...

Looking at his stats for this year he averages 13 runs a game 11 carries for 8m+ and 2 carries for less than <8m. That's the best in the comp for prop forwards.

Averages 10.9m per run after averaging 10.1 last year which was 3rd best in the comp only behind SST and Fonua Blake.

Reminds me alot of Klemmer. Will just run straight and hard up and down the field all day for you. Very strong in contact defensively and offensively as evidenced from stats above.

He was such a fucking shit cunt when he first came into first grade. Young props are often a bit like that but he was a massive liability for quite a while. Had a bit of a stinker for Queensland Under 20s a few years back too if I remember right.

He's really improved though and Queensland's front row depth is not great (Lloyd Perrett consistently making Emerging Maroons squads over the past five years always speaks volumes) so it wouldn't surprise me to see him picked at all. He'd probably Nate Myles it too, the cunt.

He would be in discussions. Hopefully Wallace/Glasby have lines through their names never to be picked again.

Ben Ikin picked Holmes at 1 and Ponga 14 the other day. Absolute pelican that cunt

  10. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Ponga
    Holmes
    Morgan
    Gagai
    Goates
    Munster
    DCE
    Papa
    Turpin/Friend
    McGuire
    Fifita
    Kaufusi
    Arrow

    Hunt
    Napa
    Offa
    Horse/Collins

Bit of a mixture of what I want/think. There is also every chance Kevvie murders the team selection.

Friend should be starting. Not even a question any more.

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

80% chance he will be injured.

  13. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Still not keen on Gagai in the centres. Probably the best we can do tho.

  14. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

I'd take Glasby if we need him, Wallace can gtfo though.

  15. Magic AJ Parker

Wallace's SOO performances for a prop have got to be up they with Jason King, Brett White (that punch excluded) and Kade Snowden.

Can't even make the Titans at the moment. Surely no hope of playing origin.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Wallace is a strange one. His game is built around high work rate rather than impactful runs. And yet he just cant get on the pace of Origin.

How does a starting prop make only 4 runs?

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

Morgan didn't have a great time of it in the centres last year either. I'm sure he'd be fine if he played there every week in club footy but he was caught out of position quite a few times.

You don't even have any other centres regularly picked in first grade though - at least not at centre.

  18. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Joins an elite club, I distinctly recall Jason King managing 4 runs for 24m as run on. I reckon I've got a Facebook post about it somewhere.

  19. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Poor old Kade. Him and Douglas were great doing those 70 minute stints for the Sharks but there's just no need for it in origin, you need two impactful 20 minute bursts.

It's why I'm so happy Ryan James never got a sky blue, convinced he would've been even worse than those mentioned. I'm sure he cleaned up in fantasy week in week out making 35 tackles and taking 12+ 3rd hit ups but I fancy would've been destroyed in origin bringing it back off a kick off.

    Cribbage likes this.
  20. Toolman TR Man

Surely you pick Folau. You could have Inglis next year too.
