It baffles me a bit that Pilgrim is favoured over Roberts. You look at Roberts' firsts stats and they're more than solid, particularly from season 6 onwards. Season 6 played almost the entire season batting at 6 for the stickies and averaged 40. Next season goes to the saders and gets one game, where he makes a hundred, and even when sent back to seconds, he averagess 60.
I never said that you were...As a qld selector, I'd prefer you to be in firsts than seconds. It jsut doesn't make sense to me. Kovas is picking you in the hope you'll come good rather than picking the player that averaged 60 to your 40 in seconds last season.
Good stuff boys! Shut down Hallett well, was quite worried he might hurt us. As for Pilgrim/Roberts, it's ****ing close. Pilgrim's played okay this season, had 2 50's in the first round of BS, and has been good in Horrigan. But had a shit last round and Roberts is putting the pressure on, and tbh i can see Burridge going down, he's been pretty average this season, whilst Retzel's been good opening in absence of Meister. In saying that, not my call to make, and i'll just pick from whoever is available
He was actually at the Lions for Season 7 - he only played one game in firsts because he got suspended for registering multis for simming. I'd say the reason the Saders haven't played him so far is the fact that they picked him up really late upon his random return to the forum. He had to prove himself as such to get himself ahead of who they had already planned. He got himself banned again at one point too, and Pilgrim started the Bannerman Shield season with twin fifties. I'd say he'll be in the team soon enough but I can see the logic behind not picking him straight away.
