What would you have? Personally, I think it should look like this:
    1. Hunt
    2. Monoghan
    3. Inglis
    4. Hodges
    5. Folau
    6. Lockyer
    7. Thurston
    8. Price
    9. Smith
    10. Civonaceva
    11. Myles
    12. Hindmarsh
    13. Harrison
    14. Slater
    15. Thaiday
    16. Kite
    17. Laffranchi

    *Waits to be called biased*
The simple fact is that NSW don't deserve any more than 4 people in the team, two of which were over-looked by nsw last year. The simple fact of the matter is that Qld are always going to have 9 of the run on 1-10. Slater on the bench with Hunt to the backrow is a proven combination. Kite's the 3rd best prop in the game. Then the backrow....Myles has been the best backrower over the last 3 origin series. Add to this his good club form for once and his ability to play up front and he's a must to start. Hindmarsh is also a proven rep performer so he's there. For lock, it came down to a choice between Johnson and Harrison with Hindmarsh in the second row. There's no need for 3 tackling machines. Harrison adds more in attack. That leaves two bench spots. Thaiday picks himself for both impact and awesomness. Laffranchi's the stand out second rower left unpicked imo. Therefore he's in.

    6. John Morris

Considering Tim Sheens is the coach it would not surprise me.

  3. Old Mate M Perry

Laffranchi needs to start and play big minutes, it's part of his strength. I'd have him start, probably Johnson at lock with someone else on the bench, maybe Harrison.

  4. Alec AD Funkotron

That side looks good. I'd rather not see Billy Slater anywhere near it, but other than that I'm happy with it.

  5. Hybrid A Kolar

Laffranchi off the bench is a waste.

    My team:
    1. Karmichael Hunt
    2. Brett Stewart
    3. Justin Hodges
    4. Greg Inglis
    5. Israel Folau
    6. Darren Lockyer (c)
    7. Johnathan Thurston
    8. Steve Price
    9. Cameron Smith
    10. Petero Civoniceva
    11. Nathan Hindmarsh
    12. Anthony Laffranchi
    13. Dallas Johnson

    14. Billy Slater
    15. Sam Thaiday
    16. Brent Kite
    17. Nate Myles

  6. Freddy MJ Johns

IMO, Tongue would be perfect for no.14, if Smith needs a breather or needs to move somewhere else for some reason he can cover hooker, if not he can play in the back row.

  7. Julian BJ Taylor

    Karmichael Hunt
    Israel Folau
    Greg Inglis
    Justin Hodges
    Darius Boyd
Terry Campese (though if Lockyer regains form I'd pick him)
    Scott Prince
    Petero Civoneciva
    Cameron Smith
    Brent Kite
    Nate Myles
    Nathan Hindmarsh
    Paul Gallen

    Billy Slater
    Sam Thaiday
    Anthony Watmough
Steve Price/Ben Hannant/Luke Bailey (if Price proves fitness, pick him)

  8. Ged GEC King

So you're leaving Myles out? OR Hindmarsh? Because both are better than him imo.

  9. Freddy MJ Johns

Just because he is a waste off the bench doesn't mean he is better than Myles in the starting team. Replace him altogether AFAIC.

  10. Ged GEC King

Why would you break up a proven halves combination?

  11. Old Mate M Perry

Probably Hindmarsh, although Johnson isn't the best person to take his spot really. I'd have to look into it a bit more before deciding on what I'd do.

  12. Old Mate M Perry

I really like that for an idea.
I'm also fairly fond of that side.

  13. Ged GEC King

I don't think that he is a waste off the bench. He's not there for impact. He's there to keep things together. At rep level, I expect hindmarsh and Harrison to play only 60 minutes. I'd want Laffranchi on while each are having a rest to keep another high worker out there.

  14. Alec AD Funkotron

I usually agree with you, but this is the side I most disagree with so far in this thread.

  15. Old Mate M Perry

Tbf though, Myles would provide far more impact from the bench than Hindmarsh or Laffranchi.

  16. AVA T Delonge

Got a feeling Hindmarsh will be left out for some lesser shit **** like last year.

Don't doubt it. John Morris has been one of the best halves in the comp over the past couple of seasons and has been unlucky on several occasions not to get a representative call up, especially in the world cup final. I believe he is far superior 5/8 to Lockyer and would fully deserve to be Australia's new number 6.

Yeah, I didn't necessarily say he was, just pointing out my problem with Hybrid choice. IMO though he is, we only need 1 workhorse of the Harrison, Laffranchi, Hindy or Johnson caliber. with only 1 on at a time and 1 other on the bench it gives room for more of what we need when versing NZ, aggression like Gallen.

    1. Billy Slater (I'd rather Hunt but he isn't in the running IMO)
    2. Joel Monaghan
    3. Justin Hodges
    4. Greg Inglis
    5. Israel Folau
    6. Darren Lockyer (c)
    7. Jon Thurston
    8. Steve Price
    9. Cam Smith
    10. Petero Civenoceva
    11. Nathan Hindmarsh
    12. Nate Myles
    13. Paul Gallen

    14. Alan Tongue
    15. Brent Kite
    16. Ashley Harrison
    17. Sam Thaiday
