Yeah. You only need to apply the last update, despite it saying you need to go patch by patch. We're only using stuff from PHB, PHB2, PHB3. No background stuff.
I am probably going to go Elf Druid can I get some direction for my story please? Where on this earth would an elf likely have grown/been born?
Yeah, we'll do it on Roll20. The Kingdom of Astiwyn to the west will be where most elves live. The main continent will mainly be humans. Some dwarves live in the Grey Peaks to the east. Sure. Put it in the Spartans thread?
What exactly is the character creator tool/program Escath linked to? I can't seem to torrent at all at the moment, so I can't have a look.
Mhmm. Managed to find a direct download of that. Will have a proper look tomorrow, but it looks pretty straight forward.
A brief summary of the world. The Elvish Kingdom of Astiwyn in the subcontinent to the west has mainly kept to itself. Some elves have migrated to the main continent, as they prefer the urban life that human civilisation has promoted. The Grey Peaks have mostly been unexplored by the rest of the world. Legends have it that great creatures such as dragons live here, but they have been nothing more than legends. It is known that there are multiple Dwarven Kingdoms and Clans located in this region, but like the rest of the Grey Peaks, little is actually known about them. Apart from the Grey Peaks, the rest of the main continent of Ferrunas can largely be broken down into three distinct regions with mainly human populations. To the north is the New Kingdom of Vintevald, a kingdom that has largely been ignored by the rest of world since its (re)creation. To the south is the Kingdom of Jayth, a militaristic state. In the far south are desert tribes that the Kingdom of Jayth have not been able to fully annex yet. Rumours have it that the desert tribes are preparing a rebellion to overthrow the Jaythian nobles. The centre of Ferrunas is an area entirely ruled by various free states. Around two hundred years ago, the main continent (apart from the Grey Peaks), was still ruled by the Old Kingdom of Vintevald, but throughout the rule of a long line of kings, unrest brewed until eventually a large rebellion led by a noble in the south broke the continent in half. The greatest victims of this rebellion war were the people caught in the centre of the two kingdoms. The lords of individual cities in this region gathered and proclaimed their independence from both the Vintevald and Jayth, splintering the region into various free states. While each free state has their own laws, the Free Council was established to settle disputes between individual free states and ultimately represent the region in foreign relations. I can't really say much about the campaign as I'm still working on it and will tailor it according to what sort of characters we have. We will likely be starting one of the free states. I just wanted to post this to give people an idea of what the world is about so they can think about details to include and how we can work character backstories into it.
