I just can't seem to get into the whole Ultimate Team thingy. Maybe it's because it'll take a while to build up some sort of decent squad. Do you start off playing against the CPU whilst you squad is shite or jump straight into Online?
You can do either, if you play online it's usually against someone your level (equally as shit). I played one year but yeh you're right you'd have to put in a shit load of hours to get a good team. It's designed like all really popular gaming apps, forcing you to spend money if you want to get anywhere fast. Mainly though the fact that you lose your team when you get the newest Fifa every year has put me off doing it ever again. Just don't have the time.
There is usually a mix of people who grind out teams with gold players offline and those who just went straight online with bronze. If your any skilled though you can still grab the W against gold's with full bronze in Div 10-8.
What is the best way of acquiring a decent squad? Saving up for some gold packs or hitting the transfer market. Do I quick sell all my nuffies in the squad and only put the top players on the transfer market?
Bit of both really. Using websites like http://www.futhead.com/ http://www.reddit.com/r/FIFA/ http://www.futwiz.com/en/ http://futdb.net/Index you can find all sorts of info for wheeling and dealing. For the most part yes.
My mates hate playing me on this because the only players I know are Ronaldo, Messi and Cahill, and I still manage to beat them. Apparently I break the FIFA rules by drawing the keeper and passing when I have a 2on1 situation, instead of shooting.
Transfer Market > packs everyday. You can get 3 to 5 good gold players in the league/country you want for the same price it costs you to get a pack, where if you're lucky you might get one decent gold player who fits your team.
