It sounds like City might be in a bit of trouble here and could face some pretty severe sanctions. I think there are other high profile clubs also being investigated.

What do you folks think will happen here?

Here's a bbc article which outlines some of the rules http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27041079

I think for United we have to push as hard as possible to finish 5th, which basically requires one of Arsenal and Everton capitulating. If City get done they could be refused entry in the CL which I assume would promote the 5th placed club. Likewise if city win the league they could have the title removed -would that mean Liverpool or Chelsea who would be second get awarded it? Or is it just null?

Would they really have the title removed? I know the article suggests it, but surely the Premier League is different to UEFA and they don't have the jurisdiction to remove it?

I thought these were just UEFA regulations so a club could be banned from Europe but not stripped of domestic titles.

I doubt they'd get the extreme punishments. They'd likely be given only a warning or at worst a transfer embargo of some kind to force them to break even. Doubt Uefa would have the balls

I know on FM14 you have to comply with FFP regulations for both domestic and European competitions. There are different thresholds so I don't know if both come from UEFA or if the FA sets its own standards

FA has no such regulations as far as I know, wouldn't have the title removed. Just would miss out on Europe which would probably make those problems worse though.

Fine or Warning would be useless.

Should give them a embargo or through them out of Europe.

Retrospectively stripping titles seems odd as well.

The article makes the rule seem really stupid tbph.

"You're allowed to be far in the red as long as your owners can pay for it."

"Your owners can pay for it, but we don't like where that money is coming from, so that's not allowed either".

I think losses are allowed to be mitigated through owner investment up to a certain point, but then the club is deemed to be gaining an unfair advantage. I think its in place to stop owners buying the club then transferring a whole load of personal debt onto it like what happened to United and Liverpool. Owners need to show they're committed to the sport

If any big clubs actually get punished under this then I'll one up whatever Marcuss does when Cesc signs for Man Utd.

Think UEFA will be keen to make an example of some clubs. They seem to be flexing some muscles these days.

Super League break coming up, in other words.

Oh they'll make an example of some Montenegrin club who fall foul of the rules no doubt. Reckon there's more chance of Toni Kroos, Marco Reus, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal all singing Phil Neville's praises as being the pivotal reason for them to join Manchester United this summer than a big club getting hammered.

I reckon both PSG and City will cop a punishment. They might bottle out of banning them from the competition but I can see something happening

Platini c's no exclusions from next years competition.

Makes this season over for United then

Knew they'd get done. They bottled the big punishments though. No balls
