I stand by all that I said. Lukic is not a good enough option as your 3rd seamer and Hallett is not good enough to be amongst your top 4 bowlers.
Yeah. The Cyclones really are a pretty average team. They won't finish in the top half of the ladder.
I'm going to lay it out there - Hallett is actually better bowler than Crowley, even ignoring his batting. He's under-rated because: a) He doesn't post much; b) He's an allrounder; c) He played for the Lions; and d) He's a dickhead But he can bowl.
But their batting has 2 players who had poor seasons last season (1 who's been poor for a few seasons now) and 2 players who are new to BS. Bowl them against the 'Rays, Pumas and us, and that will show their weaknesses IMO. Gamblers may well be able to beat the midtable sides, but beating the favourites will decide where they come.
Well, I really can't come into it. Before last season, his best season average since season 3 in first grade was 38.06. He's ordinary at best.
Yeah but Ged appeared to come across as if the Cyclones are easy beats which is not fair to them. They probably won't finish in the top two but they have every chance of pushing for 4th spot. Each team has weaknesses it is just whether the selectors know how to exploit them.
Yeh I agree. But I think they will do what we did last season. Start slowly, and then their rookies will shine. So 1st game is a good time to be playing them really.
Once we work out what our best middle order is we will be a lot better IMO. We have a decent top 3 and decent bowling line-up.
But Hallett's bowling is nothing to do with this being funny really. It is Popvic's bowling and Hallett's batting.
Ged couldn't stop talking about it. I'm happy with the performance mainly because of the timing. They both stood up with the bat when 3 of the top 4 failed(This won't happen very often) and both again stood up with the ball when Bullpitt didn't dominate. They're extremely important to our side, it's not like the Clones have poor bowling so Hallett's performance is even better.
