There are 50 starters in this league and a handful of awesome role players. You'd be lucky to be drafted, no offence.
This is gonna sound pretty fucking dumb, but what exactly does Role Player mean in a basketball context?
Guys who are in the side to fill a specific role. Usually don't play too many minutes. Around 20ish a game.
because they have Cousins who Hunt wouldn't really complement in terms of they'd both want the ball. But you are probably right the fact Hunt can mid range shoot means it'd work on an organised team.
Bench is such a myth. Just because you don't start doesn't really mean anything. Role Player is someone whose game is one sided towards a particular aspect e.g defense, 3 point shooting, ball handling this particular aspect isn't quite good enough to warrant them a tag of being in the team nucleus Like Iridium and Starris would be role players, whereas Skippos,Ames and Hall would all be nucleus of the team. Nba example Danny Green is a role player he doesn't have an allround game but it compliments the rest of his team so well it is effective. You can blame 2k sports it doesn't go star-starter-roleplayer-prospect-benchwarmer It actually goes Star - Main Producers - Role Players - Bench Warmers If you look at it from an offense only perspective Stars - 24ppg + Main Producers - 16-24ppg Role Players - 6 - 16ppg Bench Warmers
I'd call Danny Green a main producer. Just because he doesn't really create his on shot off the dribble shouldn't pin him as a "role player" imo. D and 3 guys are great producers. Invaluable really.
