Our team really isn't in form but oh well, still looks very strong. Happy to make the side again... not sure if I'll be able to keep up that average though.
Yeah, it's a genuine concern. No-one's really having a shocker or anything (except maybe Flack) but seven of our eleven have worse Season 8 averages than First Class averages in their primary discipline. It's obviously a bit of a crude way to look at it, but it's still a bit of a worry IMO. Even more worrying for me, though, is the fact that we've lost soooo much depth over the past few seasons to Victoria, New Zealand and Great Britain and the newer NSW talents haven't really stood up. Losing Olsen and Short wouldn't have been a problem had Herd, Delonge and Berkuta stepped up, for example. I'm actually reasonably pleased with our bowling depth but our backup batsman right now would probably have to be me which is certainly not at all desirable.
New South Wales Second XI to play Great Britain 1. Robert Cribb 2. John Thornton 3. Tom Delonge 4. Ben Herd 5. Hugh Roberts 6. Kelvin Fung 7. Ben Read 8. Hache Emm 9. Dave Crowley 10. Jonny Wilkinson 11. Nathan Spinks 12. Chris Kovas Academy team for Game I against GB Academy to be named after Round 7 of the ALC.
Kovas in the 12 shows how bad you guys are, his form is terrible Hayes is semi in-form, had a couple of steady performances lately
He's 12th man for the Second XI. It'd be like saying the Crusaders are shit because Tina, your ALC 12th woman, is in terrible form.
Damn, lost of Armstrong has weaken the lineup. Glad I made the Second XI after the form I've been in. Although I did pretty decently last season in this match.
He is a team mate and I really like the guy but I am a bit surprised Freddy made the side ITBT. What were the other option?
Tyson, but he is injured. Also, Dempsey opening? And can we have caps for each player if you don't mind, Rob? Just interested.
I'm pretty sure it's in batting order judging by where the batsmen/all-rounders/bowlers are in that line up.
