Queensland A v Asia A Downes, Quilty, Retzel, Robertson, Fourex, Man, Devonshire, Webber, Bradford, Man, Rocker Tuladhar, Ochocinco, Dforum, Chowdhuri, Gurupur, Evans, Borisc, Shriram, Amir, Shreyas Asia A and Queensland A both missed out on finals action last season but split their encounters one a piece and will be hopeful of a victory to start the season. All the hype around Queensland has been in relation to Mike Fourex. The hard hitting middle order batsman is a complete unknown and may be able to provide the spark to an ageing side. The Maroons line-up does not make for a pretty sight with veterans such as Rocker, Webber and Robertson seemingly only around to pick up a pay packet and those who do train such as Quilty and Downes have not been able to make the step up. Peter Retzel will need to anchor the batting and fast bowler Choco Man has to find some way to end his steady decline. On the other side of the coin we have Asia A who are perhaps the most youthful side in the entirety of the Isles of CricSim. Asian and Victorian legend Bob Borisc along with G Shriram are the only players to break the trend but are playing in bit part roles at numbers eight and nine. Batting should not be a problem for Asia with Ritwick Chowdhuri, Aby Dforum and Clayton Evans all having promising careers to date. The bowling is more of a concern, Amiya Shreyas is an unreliable leader of the attack while MU Amir is not even signed to a club side. Queensland should be too good and the CricSim Herald is tipping them for a 150 run win but Asia cannot be ruled out if fan favourites Niranjan Gurupur and Sachet Tuladhar get the crowd behind them.
We don't have any development players...outside of Fourex. So yeah, you can say that about more than half our side.
