Basically, you retain your players by what position they were picked, rather than round. So those that have 2 picks in the top 24 or whatever.....

Such a dire attempt at explaining

    I'll give it a go -
You retain players depending on the position they were picked and not the round.

So for example if you have two players one who was picked 21st in the draft and one who was picked 25 and there are 26 teams and hence 26 picks the next time in the first round.
Then You can only retain one of those two players as they both will be counted first round picks.

    Same applies for every round.

Except if you have two Round 4 picks, for example, you are able to retain one as a R3 pick, AFAIK.

Yeah. If for example you somehow manage to acquire five Round 5 picks you can still retain them all - you just wouldn't get a pick in the draft for the first five rounds if you did and you couldn't retain anyone from the first four rounds. If you had two round 1 picks though you couldn't keep them both... or two round 2 picks and one round 1 pick etc etc.

I honestly think that I'll just be retaining as many of my top picks as possible. The amount of quality players available in rd 1 will be nothing llike it was for season 2.

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

Some people have two Round 1 players though so they'll *have* to release one.

  8. Eds E Ames

As it stands, I technically only have one Round 1 player despite Amir and Tendulkar both being picked up in Round 1. If we go for more clubs next season then they'll both be R1 though.

I reckon their will be more teams added, and you know it will be an even number because Cribb hates the bye. 2-6 teams added, could dry up the playing pool if we have the same size squads.

    4 teams added imo:

1 - Cevno, basically auto qualifies due to running a side for a bit already. And is one of the most knowledgeable in cricket on the site.
2 - Winner of CFD grand final.
3 - Loser of the CFD grand final.
    4 - Cribb's choice.

Dont think the winner will get auto qualification, like Zohaib's side is pretty strong, but I dont think he'll get a side.

+ They might win it because of the strength of their feeder clubs.

  12. Eds E Ames

Yeah, I'd roll with that, except two of Cribb's choice, instead of one. Think the winner of the CFD should defo automatically qualify though.

Reckon should just open up applications imo. Some blokes might quite impress/unimpress with how they go about CFD

  15. Zohaib ZM Ikram

    Why is that?

Its Cribbs choice if he thinks I have the capability of handling a CPL team he would add my team but if he doesnt i'm happy being the Assistant Manager of Curb Crawlers. ;)

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

Indeed. Doing well in CFD with draft picks, selection, general dependency in running the team etc will definitely play a huge role in who gets the gig but I'm not going to promise the spot to the winner because of outside factors.

    *scout.

What happened to your professional analysis anyway?

  18. Zohaib ZM Ikram

Lol , will do it after my exams , which will be in July sometime.

I'm guessing you impressed with my picks during the draft

  19. Farny AP Farnsworth

Your picks are worse than my reserves, but I'd expect that to be the case, because they were picked later. Having said that, I didn't make much effort with the reserves.

Lol , imagine what guns you would pick if you had made an effort but my team is gun so im happy.
