Are you interested in the Season 6 changes?

  1. Yes, I like both changes!

Can definitely see what Mousey is trying to do here. The Seahawks got fucking raped at the start of the season so it'd make it a lot easier for us I think with a cap. Multi-season contracts sounds good to me too.

Also interestingly enough, Heef has played 3 seasons with two bird clubs but will not be able to use his Bird right for a further season.

People don't want to play for the Seahacks, TIL.

Oh wait, I already knew that.

Well yeah, if it's a failure it's easily abandonned for Season 7, so I'm leaning to going through with both after this positive a reaction.

Great ideas... this would add that little bit extra to the comp!
And as you say if it crashes and burns it's gone next season!

  7. Shagger PW Adams

    Sounds amazing

  8. Frizzed WC Welker

Oh! Mercy me! That could've put him in Ward 4!

I'm a fucking genius. I tanked this season on purpose from my own performance perspective to lower my salary for next season thus allowing us to sign another star

    Same ^_^

  11. MASTERS S Masters

i would play for free to sign multiple stars

You won't be allowed to though, everyone will have a set value/value range.

  13. MASTERS S Masters

yea i know, just saying i would be willing to play on the bare minimum to keep the real stars of the team

Alright duders, I've had an idea and want your opinions.

To make contracts worth something I'm considering awarding players a signature skill for each million they sign for over their minimum.

I haven't employed the use of the signature skills feature of 2K13 yet and I'm thinking of a way to do it. This way would allow for negotiation, while not awarding players too much. Skills that would be available would be more team based skills. Skills such a the brick wall skill, floor general, etc.

I would also consider adding in skills like spot up shooter, finisher, lockdown defender, etc, if the populous think that's a good idea. These skills would improve the player who negotiates a good contract, but only minorly, and have more of an impact on the team. It does improve players in certain situations though, which is something you guys mightn't want.

    Thoughts?

    Sounds excellenteeeeeee.

So lets make the good players better, and the shit ones shitter?

  17. Mousey AJ Son

No, the active players should get better contracts (due to potential to improve and the ability to negotiate), so players who are active would be rewarded.

No, the active players for weaker teams would be rewarded.

I imagine the 'staches provided they don't recruit anyone would just sign their guns to massive one year contracts to take advantage of this. It means everyone's going to max out the cap so teams like the tigers/colts/pandas won't be able to offer much above 'valuation' given their minimum will be almost at cap level anyway whereas the lower teams whose total salary value is well below the cap will just dole out massive contracts.

It'll also help the weaker teams lure good players who can't get these abilities at their current clubs.

If you're looking to allow the weaker teams an easier way back into contention and even it out, this is it. If you're looking to reward teams who've managed their roster effectively, then I don't think it is.

    Just my $0.02

Just to expand, I'll reference the Tigers. I think we have two 'stars', two 'vital players' and two 'starter quality' players and then bench warmers and reserves. That already puts us well over the cap you're looking at so there's no way we'll be able to offer anyone anything above their basic minimum. With an incentive to get as much money as they can, we'll either lose players or begin to lose the advantage we've built up over other teams due to essentially missing out on these bonuses.

So yeah, I'm just looking out for my fellas right here but it's food for thought.

Cue Diggler signing for a massive contract and giving himself microwave, deadeye and finisher.
