I know it's alot more simple to select this team, but I thought we might get some discussion going.
There are some poignant issues. Firstly, can Prince force his way ahead of Thurston? Imo Thurston deserves the entire series no matter what his form leading up to it. The backline picks itself with this sorted. With the forwards, there seems to be one spot up for grabs. I'd hope that it would go to a backrower like Luck or Lillyman.

    LOLillyman

Yeah, I'd prefer Thurston. Not only do I just believe he is a better player overall, but IMO he also lifts his game a lot more than Prince does. I was just thinking back to Game 3 in 2006, he was unbelievable towards the end IMO. He looks like he's one of the most passionate players out there.

I rewatched the second game from last year where we won 30 zip. Prince played like shit tbh. The combination of Smith, Thurston and Lockyer works.

    Brad Meyers shock recall.

    >_>

    My team would be:
    1. Hunt
    2. Boyd
    3. Inglis
    4. Hodges
    5. Folau
    6. Lockyer
    7. Thurston
    8. Price
    9. Smith
    10. Price
    11. Myles
    12. Harrison
    13. Johnson
    14. Slater
    15. Thaiday
    16. Hannant
    17. Lillyman

  7. Magic AJ Parker

    8. Price
    9. Smith
    10. Price
    11. Myles
    12. Harrison
    13. Johnson
    14. Hunt
    15. Thaiday
    16. Hannant
    17. Shillington

  8. Alec AD Funkotron

Yeah, instead of Lillyman I'd either have Shillington or Kenny. Probably Shillington at this stage.

  9. Ged GEC King

I think that's too heavy. With Thaiday and Myles capable of playing front row, I want my last reserve to be a backrower.

  10. Alec AD Funkotron

Ashley Harrison and Dallas Johnson are both light backrowers, right? And they are going to be out there for the whole 80 minutes. Add another light backrower off the bench, and the fact that Civo and Price will have to come off eventually, our yardage gain is going to take a massive hit.

With Shillo/Kenny instead of Lillyman, whoever it is swaps with Civo, Hannant with Price and Thaiday and Myles, and we'll still be able to make metres and have the mobility of Johnson and Harrison in the backrow.

I was reading the Sunday paper at work earlier this morning and apparently Lockyer has been told his spot is in danger due to poor form.

LOL @ Ged and Magic noobs naming Price twice.

LOL @ Thurston, he's a shocking halfback, he wouldn't even make the NSW squad for mine as 1/2. He's a gun 5/8 tho. I'd drop Locky and make it

    6. Thurston
    7. Prince

  14. Old Mate M Perry

Holy shit, did you just start watching League this season?

Only the NSW selectors would be stupid enough to drop Lockyer or Thurston before Game I. It's not going to happen.

Lets hope the NSW Selectors actually get their act together this year so it's competitive.

    What I want to see:
    8. Price
    9. Smith
    10. Civo
    11. Myles

    14. Slater
    15. Hannant
    16. Shillington
    17. Parker
    18. Kenny

What I think will get picked:
    8. Price
    9. Smith
    10. Civo
    11. Thaiday
    12. Harrison
    13. Johnson
    14. Slater
    15. Myles

Don't believe a word out of Sunday Mail / Courier Mail, worst paper ever. So bias and ill-informed its beyond belief.
