Reserve Grade Injuries

Yeah. I see a real issue with managers picking their shit cunt draft picks that from effectively round 22 over picks made much earlier. I can see the merit in some of them where people just picked young blokes in rd 18 but there's no way that more than 1 player drafted in the Herd Derp draft should make it into the 11 if both teams are at full strength.

There are many cases where the CFD draft picks are much better than the reserves from the CPL tbf.

CFD managers are encouraged to pick their best team at all times. You're not running it; Chewie is, and his job is to get his team over the line, first and foremost. I do think a few of these guys over-rate their own picks, but there's a difference between being biased and not picking what you think your best team is.

As for injuries, CPL players playing in the CFD won't get injured, but specialist CFD players may get injured. If a player is specifically rested from CPL and it's obvious they'd make the CPL team at full strength (Bond, Flintoff, Watson etc) then they become ineligible for CFD or it becomes stupid.

So we're giving CFD managers our players on loan from the goodness of our hearts and for CPL owners who have a Cevno, you get to enjoy your reserves sitting on their arses all day while their picks play? Tunza and the Aftershocks might as well withdraw their players from the CFD squad if that's the case. There's no point for the CPL clubs in that instance. Blizzard and co. are easily CFD standard.

I'm just thanking my lucky stars I have four decent reserves. It's your site, but I strongly disagree with this call. I was under the impression this was Reserve Grade, not Give Our Players on Loan to Help Fill Squads in the Lower Comp Grade. If CFD continues next season I'll band with another club and we'll run it ourselves.:p

Thanks for the no injuries though. I would have rage quit if you included them.:p

It is reserve grade, but it's a serious competition which teams are encouraged to win; not mottle together to form trial match teams.

Well if it is reserve grade then some reserves should actually play...

Keen to get a draw and jazz up for this. Even some trials/rankings would be gun

Should have included a South African 2nd Division side for laughs. Shri could be its feeder club.

Well, some are. Just perhaps not all.

If it's a serious competition, the best team should play at all times. If the players that were selected by your manager after the draft was over are better than the players you picked... then draft better.

The "best team" is getting very subjective in some cases...

In my view, we only needed a four round draft to balance out squads etc. The vast majority of the CPL reserves are the best players in my eyes, but that opinion doesn't appear to be shared.

Anyway, if it is a reserve grade competition, then reserves should come first unless they are truly diabolically bad (Bracewell).

I agree that people are over-rating their own picks. But that's different from this argument:

No, they should be picking the best team they can. It's as simple as that tbh. I actually went on a rant before and people picking too many of their own players, but there's a difference between not being biased and just deliberately picking players who are worse because they're CPL-contracted.
