Round 2: Cyclones FC vs Chiefs FC @ BOM

Chiefs have a tough start to their season. They are up against the unbeaten Cyclones. However Chiefs have a point to prove. They missed out on the finals on goal difference last season and I am sure they will be looking to go one better this season.

... D_Erschoff swings it in
... S_Wilson gets on the end of it
... S_Wilson tries to catch the keeper out!
... But A_Hunt tips it over
... The Referee has given a goal kick
... Unbelievable !

Min. 6 : (chiefs) B_Storer sidesteps M_Deane
... That was too easy
... An audacious effort from B_Storer !
... C_Laing won't get to that!
... It clips the post!
... And goes wide!

Min. 9 : (cyclones) D_Erschoff looks around for some movement
... His team mate makes an overlapping run now!
... He hits the ball to J_Goodfellow
... D_Armstrong is called for the holding foul
... He was pushing down on his man
... The Referee reaches to his pocket!
... He jots down his name!
... YELLOW CARD!!

 

Min. 12 : (cyclones) J_Dempsey knocks it past L_Popovic and runs onto it
... He showed great skill and pace there
... J_Dempsey with the header !
... It takes a deflection!
... But hits the side netting!
... CORNER!
... J_Dempsey chips the ball in towards the back post!
... The ball finds its way to J_Goodfellow
... He gets the shot away
... The shot takes a wicked deflection
... A_Hunt dives desperately to try and save it!!
... He can't get to it!
... But it creeps just wide!!
... The deflection had A_Hunt beaten!
... CORNER!
... M_Dorn floats the ball in!
... A_Hunt fists it away!

Min. 18 : (cyclones) J_Goodfellow with the dribble
... He skips through the tackle from L_Radebe
... L_Radebe with an ugly foul
... That looked malicious
... It's a yellow, and rightly so
... YELLOW CARD!!

 

Min. 26 : (cyclones) A_Farhat flicks it past D_Armstrong
... He runs forward
... A_Farhat has time and space!
... He flicks the ball towards goal
... A_Hunt with a fantastic point blank save
... When he's on his game he's one of the best in the league

Min. 27 : (chiefs) M_Edwards pulls up
... That looks like his hamstring went
... He wont be able to continue!!

Min. 27 : (chiefs) N_Miokovic takes off his tracksuit
... he'll replace M_Edwards as DF

 

Min. 31 : (chiefs) L_Popovic with the deft touch
... He takes it past A_Farhat
... He knocks it to N_Miokovic!
... N_Miokovic gets up high for the header !
... C_Laing gets his fingertips to it
... He pushes it on to the post
... The defender clears the loose ball

Min. 34 : (cyclones) B_Manera is taking a throw in
... He is taking a run up at it!
... He throws it long to M_Dorn
... M_Dorn tries to curl it into the bottom corner !
... He hits the side netting
... There was some parts of the ground that thought that went in!

Min. 35 : (cyclones) M_Deane hits in a shot!
... It hits the defender
... B_Manera collects the loose ball!
... B_Manera sidesteps his marker and tries the wicked snap bender !
... GOAL !!
... It looks like he enjoyed that one!!
... He is dancing round the corner flag!
... That puts cyclones ahead!
... Now can they hang onto it!
... cyclones 1-0 Chiefs FC ...
Min. 36 : (chiefs) L_Radebe picks up the pass
... S_Wilson muscles him off the ball
... Looked like a good tackle but the referee has awarded them a free kick

Min. 36 : (chiefs) L_Popovic slides it through the middle to C_Wood
... Excellent sliding challenge by D_Erschoff
... He timed it well
... CORNER!
... T_Miokovic curls it into the box!
... A_Farhat belts it clear

Min. 39 : (chiefs) C_Wood latches onto the ball
... He has some space now
... C_Wood aims the cheeky shot at goal!
... But C_Laing pulls out a save of the game

Min. 43 : (REF) The board goes up indicating that there is 1 minute of time to be added on

Min. 44 : (cyclones) J_Goodfellow with a real burst of pace
... He leaves D_Speirs behind
... B_Storer with a late tackle
... It looked worse than what it was
... He is surrounded by the cyclones players
... The Referee lectures him
