    Assuming everyone names their lineups on time, the last game of the week always features the team that has the bye in the following week. The first game of the week always features the team that had the bye in previous week.

    This is done to minimise the gap between games for a team that the bye week can create. Having the Thursday game, then the bye, then the Monday game means there's only a gap of 11 days between your matches either side of the bye, which is only a day more than if you had the Monday game one week and the Thursday game the next without having the bye.
