So exciting for us union fans!!!! Expanded career mode sounds promising. Also comes out mid this year!!! Only a few months away. Play in Single Match Mode, multi-team Competition Mode, a vastly expanded multi-year Career Mode, Tutorial Mode, or compete in online multiplayer with support up to 4v4 via PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE, or Steam. Refined and expanded gameplay with the addition of quick taps, quick lineouts, mauls from lineouts, interceptions, contesting ball at the breakdown, removing players from the ruck, number 8 scrum pickups, and dynamic in game team strategies on both attack and defence. Rugby Challenge 2 includes more than 110 teams from around the world, including "official team, competition, and special match licenses" for: The All Blacks The Qantas Wallabies The USA Eagles Bledisloe Cup British and Irish Lions 2013 Tour of Australia Barbarians FC Combined Country Super Rugby teams Aviva Premiership Rugby TOP 14 Orange Pro D2 RaboDirect PRO12 ITM Cup Ranfurly Shield There are also more than 50 stadiums, expanded editing options (players, teams, and competitions), as well as the ability to change game rules to suit your style of play. The commentary system has also been revised, and previous commentators Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall are augmented by French-language commentary as provided by Eric Bayle and Thomas Lombard. "We have been very excited to build on the huge success of the original Rugby Challenge" said Sebastian Giompaolo, Managing Director for HES. "Brand new features, expanded and refined gameplay, more options, and additional licenses such as the British and Irish Lions bring this game franchise to a whole new level. This is the definitive rugby union videogame experience." "It has been a wonderful opportunity to build on the foundation we established with the original game to create a deeper, more engaging, and higher quality experience" said Tyrone McAuley, Technical Director for Sidhe and project vision holder. "Tighter controls, smoother animation, and smarter AI improve the title moment to moment, while additions such as significant new Northern Hemisphere content create a more global and well rounded game". Much like the first game, Rugby Challenge 2 will be known by different names in different territories. In New Zealand, it will be called All Blacks Rugby Challenge 2, while France will know the game as Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge 2; in the rest of the world it will be called Rugby Challenge 2: The Lions Tour Edition. All Blacks Rugby Challenge 2 is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in "mid year" 2013.
Ugh. Justin Marshall. Anyway, does this have real players in it for the NPC? Only interested in the NPC so unless it has real players down to that level, it can remain on the shelves.
Yeah it did in the last one too. Graphics were awesome, so were player likenesses. Gameplay was the only let down and the career mode was terrible
Rugby Challenge 1 did yes. Since it's made by Sidhe (Wellington based) all the southern hemishphere player likenesses are generally all really well done. NH player likenesses were a bit of a let down so hopefully not the case for number 2.
Career mode was one of the most exciting things coming up to release for RC1. However it was a massive let down. You could "transfer" players or should I say replace players with randoms who were like twice as good at the start of seasons. No money aspect, no skill improvements/ changes so you couldn't like build a young team up. Essentially it was just season mode slapped together 14 times so got boring really fast. I have no doubts the career mode should be a lot more like a career mode (improvements, transfers, money etc. ) rather than playing the same fixtures every season for 14 seasons without any developments.
Wasn't in 1. Nothing released about it yet. Comes up in everyone's wishlist. Personally I reckon there won't be in this one since all they need to do is improve the gameplay and career mode. Once they have that (which they should hopefully in number 2) then they'll probably look at things like my player but who knows, may surprise us. Personally I'd be happy if theybe just mastered gameplay and the career mode. Graphics were really good and the screenshot of the lions looks pretty similar graphics wise.
Well the box arts have been released and a few screenshots. NZ box: Aussie: UK and world: Screenshots:
Biggest feature for them to add imo is something similar to the World League that was in the EA games.
Sounds like we'll be getting a good career mode which in essence actually is a career mode. French box art:
