I think Razzaq, Pathan and Benkestein should have been picked. If I wasn't sorted for all rounders I would have considered Dwayne Smith for a round 18 pick up as well. I'm surprised more people didn't opt for some of these remaining all rounders in the last one or two rounds for simply some stop gap injury/squad cover. Wasn't much left though it should be said.
Another: Sanju Samson. Very young, seen as the long-term replacement for Dhoni and has a solid record thus far.
Sairaj Bahutule Sanjay Bangar Nathan Hauritz Peter Forrest - considering bats like rohrer went Hasan Raza Saeed Anwar Jr
Seamers: Gurinder Sandhu Jade Herrick Mark Gillespie Brent Arnel Wahab Riaz Ed Rainsford Gavin Tonge Mohammad Asif Hamid Hassan Ajmal Shahzad Burt Cockley Peter George
Abbott's another one. Has taken most of his wickets this season (where the pitches have been flatter), can bat and is young.
Michael Di Venuto Martin Van Jaarsveld Justin Langer Herschelle Gibbs Boeta Dippenaar Aakash Chopra Wavell Hinds Martin Love etc etc
Definitely, definitely not. Thought Chris Nevin might get picked up (by Julian). Scott Kuggeleijn might have been picked as a batting all-rounder by some stats whore.
Spinners: Ray Price Ramesh Powar Suliemann Benn Graeme Cremer Bruce Martin Todd Astle several Lankans
Zimbabwean (so hard to quantify how good he is) + retirement probably factored into it. Though given Querl, Chatara and Meth were picked...
reckon you could almost make an XI by country NZ Jamie How Jeet Raval Neil Broom Daryl Mitchell Luke Woodcock Sam Wells Derek de Boorder (c) (wk) Todd Astle Ian Butler/Ben Wheeler/Hamish Bennett Mark Gillespie Brent Arnel Grant Elliott is filthy ftr. He's been saving his arse with once in a blue moon performances for years. Lucky he plays for Wellington who love allrounders. Wells and KNB are both >>>> Elliott.
If I got bored, I was going to pick Gazza. And there's no way in hell KNB should be in the NZ team. Sam Wells and Grant Elliott are both better than him, though I do agree with your point that Elliott seems to pull a performance out of his arse with alarming irregularity.
