Yes, it's already that time of year folks, we're in the back half of the season and I'm settling on the Season 6 structure. CONFIRMED TO HAPPEN: - multiple season contracts - conference re-alignment Yep, you can now sign for 3 seasons at your current club and 2 at another. Conferences will be realigned also, seeing as our current model is not working 100% PROBABLY HAPPENING: - salaries As already explained, the idea seems to have backing so I'll try it. By season's end you'll know what your 'market value' is. POSSIBLY HAPPENING: - final level of expansion For a while now the aim was to reach 12 teams. This format would allow for entire conference rounds and interconference rounds, not the current model that has 4 conference and 1 interconference which is a total pain in the arse to schedule. This happening would require 2 very good bids or at least 1 excellent one. So, to anyone looking to own a franchise: plot away and hit me up before the end of All Star Weekend. At the end of that weekend I'll be announcing successful bids (if there are any). Unsuccessful bids will not be revealed. If this does happen, there is a possibility of expanding to 8 team playoffs, but I'll have to think that through. The schedule would remain largely the same, with each team playing 16 round instead of 13. Now's the time and here's the place to hit me with any ideas for BasketballSim, I'm open to anything. Don't troll in here though. Cheers.
What kind of re-alignment were you looking at? Something like swapping the 'Staches and the 'Heads or something? or would it be completely random?
Will there be time between you announcing the salaries and contract signings opening? Should a weeks grace period between the two for teams to better prepare their teams with the new changes.
How would ye work out these ranks? esp. when if it's a combined ladder conf. a teams will be a little higher due to the easy conference or am i doing it wrong
I honestly think having piles of fillers in the reserves should basically be a permanent thing for this sim unless they're looking to have subbies. I think having more little groups of a handful of members works best, if for variety compared to the other sims even if nothing else. Having the vast majority of players in top grade games is a good thing here IMO.
Seniors takes priority right now. After we hit 12 though and get an even schedule, I'll be aiming to improve the reserves.
The idea of the shortened bench was supposed to help with that but I'm looking at ways to improve on that. Something like minimum 24 minutes of those under 24 get to play reserves again. I'm not sure on what I'll do.
