Have to say I have wondered about this a few times. I think most guys tend to come on here out of habit rather than because they enjoy it though. I personally find the forum fairly garbage nowadays without the inject of simmage regularly it just tends to die away and be boring. I am fairly shocked that we have not lost more bigger/more active members tbh.
As you said, most still come out of habit. For me, it's one of the first pages that I open in my browser. I started off coming here mostly for the sim, but as I got used to the personalities on here, that kinda changed.
I still come on here mainly for the simming, the site fills up the boring evenings TBH I preferred the site as it was when I joined though for sure.
You'd think people would be used to it by now. It's not slow, it's been like this for ages. These are normal simming rates. There's actually going to be a pretty ****ing huge gap between Season 8 and Season 9, which I've warned everyone about a few times now. If people leave it really doesn't overly bother me anymore; they can **** off. The only thing that shits me is people hanging around and yet whinging about how shit it is. If you don't like it, don't come here, because it's not going to change - this is what CricSim is. This pretty much means you specifically Wilson. CricSim is not going to end in the next few seasons, but if people leave then meh. It'll just make it more enjoyable for those who aren't over it if you ****ing ****s just all piss off. The only thing threads like this do is put ideas into people's heads that something is wrong when it's really just a gross exaggeration - like what happened to the Crusaders, basically. Wilson = Morgieb.
It's slowed down a little but it's magnified by the increase in other simmage besides the good stuff.
Well, the options for this period were: - Offseason cricket where I can sim heaps and heaps and heaps of rounds in one day and then not sim again for a week or so. - No simming at all. People act is if the reason we aren't starting the BS season right now is because of the offseason cricket, where it's not even close to being true. There are quite a few things I want to implement and tinker with for next season, not to mention the inconsistency of my availability, so there won't be any BS simming for ages. And that timeframe would be exactly the same without this offseason comp, so it's basically just a bonus. I'm telling you that now, so if all you come to CricSim for is that, then don't bother until mid-January - I'd don't want to see you around starting shit threads about it. Oh, there's also been a couple of times where I've thought about simming but didn't do it due to the "I'm not going to sim if people are telling me to sim constantly" rule. And no, it really hasn't slowed at all tbh. People have been talking about it being slower since about Season 4, and it honestly hasn't got slower since then. New members just join up, see everyone else talking about it being slow and decide that it must be quicker normally and join in, despite the fact that it isn't. It's not Season 3 anymore, and if people don't enjoy CricSim they shouldn't keep coming back in anticipation of it improving, because this is what CricSim is. I'll just start permabanning ****s to put them out of their misery if they're just coming here out of habit and hate the place; Wilson's been ****ing saying that since he got here FFS.
