The Cricsim Story

Yeah I'm horrible.

Don't hold your breath for the next chapter any time soon. I'm on holiday without a laptop, and if you think I'm typing a whole chapter on my blackberry you're just dumb.

Begin to get keen, but slowly. My biggest chem test before midyear exams is tomorrow, and a big IT program is due Monday. I'll surely find time in between IT though.

Science test over, probably failed but meh.

 

49%. Technically a pass but lol.

Not when you live in my family. Sister got a 93% average for matric, I'm a failure in comparison in "just" getting 80ish. So 49% really doesn't cut the mustard for my parents

 

Thick, calloused hands poured through the telephone directory. "R......Ri.....Ric....Rid....Ridd! Here we go," announced Davis triumphantly.

Davis called out the number and Taylor poked at the numbers on the telephone accordingly. Once the number was entered, Taylor drew the phone to his ear and listened to ts piccanto ringing.

"Hello, Jonny speaking."

"Ridd! It's Ames," replied Taylor. "Ames Taylor."

"Ames!" Jonny was noticeably pleased. "It's been a long time, mate! How've you been?"

"Can't complain. Well, except for this one thing."

Taylor explained the happenings that had led up to the founding of the club, and Ridd listened attentively.

"So," Taylor concluded, "we're recruiting. And we want you. You in?"

"Yeah!" Ridd exclaimed. "Niru and I were just chatting about how our club was so stagnant. Well, I was. You remember niru right? Niranjan..."

Taylor chuckled. "Yeah, I remember. He didn't ever speak much - does he speak English?"

"Dunno," replied Ridd. "He never talks. Just nods his head, shakes it, or smiles. Top guy though. Great listener."

"Well he's welcome to join too, if he wants," laughed Taylor. "Good to chat, Jonny. Talk soon?"

"Of course," replied Ridd. "Cheers mate."

Taylor put down the receiver and smiled. "Got him. We're set now."
