Round 4 preview vs Polar Bears G - Regan Hutchinson………………...G - Rob Cribb G - Jesse Harding ………………………G - Clayton Evans F - Ganja Shriram ……………………..F - Marquis Deen F - Soumanyil Das ………………..…..F - Joshua Ritchie C - Bruce Force ………………………….C - Tom Delonge At home to the Polar Bears might be just what we need after a demoralising start to the season. Don't write them off too quickly though. They aren't as bad a side as many predicted. Bruce Force was tipped to the the team's star and he hasn't disappointed. Regan Hutchinson is an experienced point guard. Ganja Shriram is probably the surprise of the team making a fantastic start to the season. Jesse Harding is a bit of a lose cannon and can have a blinder on his day too. Soumanyil Das is probably their weakest player but he does a decent job on the glass and plays decent defence. Despite all that, it's clear that we have a clear match up advantage. If Force and Hutchinson can somewhat be contained then the Polar Bears are going to have some trouble in this game. The home crowd will be looking for a much improved performance after they witnessed the massacre at the hands of the Tigers last week. Key Matchup: Evans vs Harding Evans will most likely be their go to scorer this game. He hasn't exactly shot well this season but Harding will be his easiest match up yet (after Diggler). If Harding can't contain Evans and he gets hot, it's pretty much game over for the Polar Bears. Verdict: PBs won't roll over but it should still be a win for the Sabres.
Mousey likes this. Haha, I should probably get more harsh with my grades I guess. I usually reserve a grade less than 6 for someone who's been shit on both sides of the ball. If they're good defensively in a poor offensive showing I give them benefit of the doubt. Makes it tough to grade some of the better games though.
Considerably busier from now till the 15th of April so if anyone notices that I haven't been online and a lineup is due then just submit one please. Marcuss will override if necessary. We can't really afford being docked any wins. Chances of me not coming on to submit a lineup is pretty slim but you never know. So active folk like AVA take note please. Needless to say the post-game analysis and previews will be on a temporary hiatus. 2 wins in 2 games though!
#Sabresontherise If we need one is the last one good (assuming there are no injuries)? I have absolutely NFI about basketball.
Last one is usually good, yeah. No need to mess around with the tactics too much. You can fiddle around with minutes depending on form though. That's pretty much all I do with lineups. Occasionally I change the offensive/defensive tempo but even that, sparingly.
Apologies for that blunder folks. Had a plan but that wasn't the game to try it as Mousey said. Also note that anyone can criticize/comment/give feedback on lineups whether I post it here or not. I try to get them in as early as I can on the official thread.
Meh, was worth a try, just didn't work, no need to cop the blame. We all played pretty badly that match which exacerbated the selection imo.
yeah things aren't gonna work out from time to time no need to beat yourself up, im sure we will bounce back from it
Team: Sabres Round: Round 7 Lineup: Starters G - Rob Cribb (36) G - Clayton Evans (36) F - Marquis Deen (36) F - Joshua Ritchie (32) C - Tom Delonge (32) Bench Paul Tazewell (24) Allan Izett (16) Bill Kirk (16) Classified Classified (12) Tactics: First scoring option: Marquis Deen Second scoring option: Clayton Evans Back to what we're familiar with. I removed Delonge as a scoring option because the Parrots have two defensive juggernaut bigs in Howe and Chewie so realistically, Delonge won't do much damage on the offensive end this game anyway. Hopefully he can focus on out rebounding them somehow - which will be difficult because they run with 3 bigs. Last game was very poor on that front with Evans grabbing the most boards. Preseason 1 saw Downes put 42 past us but he hasn't been in the flashiest form so hopefully we can have a bit of luck.
