Yeah but the rankings formula takes all that into account. Nobody is saying that Farny is the best fast bowler ever, just that today he's on of the best around. How much does it matter what a bowler did 8 seasons ago when comparing how good they are now?

  2. Ged GEC King

Oh deffo. But it's not like he was shit last season. 170 wickets in firsts is a heap in anyone's language.

  3. Marto RK Fittaman

    That's heaps good.

  4. Callum CJ Laing

As I have said in another thread before Farny is the best pace bowler ATM, however Bullpitt remains the best pace bowler overall.

  5. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

It's not arguable. It would be like me comparing Benny to Speirs if Benny averages 50 with the bat next season and takes a few wickets.

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

If I had 2 pace bowlers to pick, Farny wouldn't be one of them.

  7. Callum CJ Laing

If you were picking a team based on Season 8 Farny would be the first bowler on the list.

  8. Eggman DA Eggman

More like if some new AR signed up and did that.

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I wouldn't pick a team based on one season.

If I were picking the test team, Choco and BTF make it well before Farny does.

  10. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Ged only goes on about him because he is a gay, so I picked a Gambling AllRounder.

  11. Shri G Shriram

First 'bowling allrounder'. Regardless of the fact that he cant hold a bat if his life depended on it.

  12. Eggman DA Eggman

Fair enough and Read is pretty shit it would be like a new AR signing up anyway.

  13. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Pretty much.

  14. Ged GEC King

Nah it wouldn't because he's proven his shitness. It would be like, I dunno, Son or someone like that with a great start to his career (a better start that Son's would help) coming out and averaging 65 with the bat and 25 with the ball.

  15. Callum CJ Laing

Marcuss is probably the best example tbh. I cant think of any other ARs that have had such a good start with both bat and ball.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

How is that even remotely close to what Farny has done? What did he do? 22 with the ball and 18 with the bat?

He is a failure with the bat.

  17. Callum CJ Laing

No one talks up Farny as an allrounder at all. Really he would get picked as a bowler who could bat 8 (in BS) if really needed, but mostly as a bowler. Or I would say so anyway.

I am talking about Marcuss in ALC. Really he isnt ready to be playing PC tbh but GB only have 2 spin options and he was viewed to be the better choice.

  18. Ged GEC King

Well, Speirs averages around 45 with bat and 30 with the ball. I went a little excessive but it would be like a batting allrounder averaging 55 with the bat and 30 with the ball. Farny was better statistically than the two best bowlers in the comp by quite a distance.

  19. Ged GEC King

Yeah. There's gotta be some concern that picking him this early has ****ed his career from being great though. Having said that, his stats throughout the series have not been horrible. It's something that can deffo be built upon next season.

  20. Callum CJ Laing

He only actually scored 100 less runs than you and averaged 4 less this season and batted 9, 2 places below you in the order.
