Ponting's had a massive decline over a 2 and a half year period; that's not a "form slump"; that's "he's not as good as he used to be". He's not in the top fifteen or so batsmen in the world at this point IMO.
KP just averaged over 50 in the ashes with his highest ever test score... My retirees; Hayden, Symonds and Gilly are still playing in IPL and doing so very well. They would all make the Australian team, TBH. My rookies are Lynn and Maddinson who are dominating domestic cricket at the moment. I'm not worried about them in the slightest. He should score plenty of hundreds. Looking at most of the attacks, KP and Punter should both average 50.
Everyone does, that's what makes his posts in here boring. Mainly because people think his opinion is what the sim is based on.
KP only played one innings. His form is still a bit off. Haydos isn't playing IPL anymore, and I'm not sure how well the other two are doing. And they wouldn't make the Australian team, no way. Lynn & Maddinson right now are still pretty raw, though I expect them to be guns in the future.
Ponting honestly looks a shadow of himself and I've pretty vocally stated that I think he is passed it.
