Our junior development is good. Delonge, Perry , Bots, Eggman, Popovic, Hebditch, Torres, Devonshire etc. There's probably a few I forgot. EDIT: And Fiery, he's only played a few games in firsts but he has a fairly decent bowling rank for someone who is relatively unnoticed in the Cricsim world.
And that is the goal of the Stingrays. To foster new players. And I've made it personally my goal to do this. I'm happy at how it's going. We've signed new members that are loyal and active to the club. They are all new members for this season - most of the ALC players anyway. I know we aren't doing too well, but to me, that's part of the learning curve and part of the cons to starting an ALC side from scratch.
Yeah but Cribberts point is that you aren't the only club who has 'fostering new players' as one of their goals.
Yeah, we do realise that. But I'm just trying to say that's what we are ultimately aiming for. The club that fosters new players and willing to give people a go.
No it doesn't. You do not offer significantly more in terms of junior development than the Stingrays or Pumas. Particularly as you've been adamant to wipe out all that happened with the first-edition Vipers as it suited you and yet now want to bring up Delonge and Perry. Furthermore, you signed Eggman from the Allstars (and Devonshire as well.. even though he was originally yours that's another case of first-ed Vipers and he only really became active/good at the Allstars anyway) and Hebditch is neither a particularly good nor particularly active player. You've brought through Torres and Popovic, but the Pumas have brought through Morgan, Herd, Hunt, Wilkinson etc etc and the Stingrays have done so with Dafter, Steele, Golding are Cambridge (none of those players are particularly good yet but they are all active members and good contributors). I'm not saying you categorically offer the least, but you are certainly a valid answer to the question, IMO. You're basically just biased if you think otherwise.
Oh and with Eggman, I conacted him about the Vipers before he joined the Allstars. He couldn't sign with us as we didn't exist. That makes him count as our junior, atleast that's what you said about the Ravens when you made the thread making team lists for each club based on their juniors.
Whether he is officially your junior or not actually has no real baring on what I was saying. I was talking about true junior development, where a club is consistently responsible for players being active, good at CricSim, or both. Not technical junior development where someone joins and you sign them up, only to have another club babysit them for a season, garner their interest and make them good for you. All clubs do this to some extent, but the Cyclones are the only club that does this to a standard noticeably higher than other clubs.
That massive arguement of yours against me is silly given that I deleted my post because I misread what you originally said. I'm not disagreeing with you on it, i'm just saying it was a waste of time
