New Navy, Matt Corby, Spankrock are the only ones that currently spring to mind. EDIT: and anything by chairlift, I'll be voting for all their songs after they got ripped off the other year when bruises didn't even make the 100.
Attention JJJers On my betting site they have Gotye paying $1.14 All other songs $5.50 Any chance the goat man won't win? 5.50 looks tasty...
I'm tempted to make 1 million email addresses and vote for Mermaid - Okkervil River that many times. What a fucking epic song.
Off the top of my head Gotye is a pretty safe bet. Although I think Matt Corby's song has gained a pretty massive following, could give it a shake.
I reckon Hilltop Hoods ft Sia is a dark horse. It's a good song which has recently gained commercial success and reaches two different fan groups.
Yeah They've got a mass following too the hoods, think it's just come in a little to late. Tipping it around 10.
Kasabian - Re-Wired Kasabian - Days Are Forgotten Kasabian - Switchblade Smiles Kasabian - Velociraptor The Strokes - Machu Picchu The Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness Architecture in Helsinki - Escapee Foster the People - Call it What You Want Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie Lotus Flower - Radiohead Yeah I voted for for four Kasabian songs and two Strokes songs... Eat a dick if you have a problem with it.
So is this the most popular radio station in Australia? If so I'm quite jealous when you compare it to the utter shit we have to deal with over here, radio 1 play the worst music all the time. If this was done in England it would be embarrassing, there would probably be about 3/4 good songs on the list the rest would all be terrible club shit which makes your ears bleed unless fuelled by alcohol. Listened to that Gotye song, wasn't really my style, wasn't bad though. I don't think this year has been great for music, I've not really listened to much new stuff. Though if I had to I'd vote for; Bon Iver - Calgary Bon Iver - Holecene The Strokes - Machu Picchu The Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness Florence and the Machine - Shake it Out Radiohead - Lotus Flower YesYou - Half of It Snakadaktal - Air Foster the People - Call It What You Want Pretty weak list though IMO, compared to previous years.
Nah It's not the most popular at all, it just plays up and coming sort of new music all the time always trying to find new local acts, won't play any 'top 40' sort of songs. It's a fairly Indie Music station.
Given what they do for Australian music, I'd say that's a good thing. A completely Americanised and Commercial nation would be sickening.
Sounds sick, we don't have a national indie station. I'd love it, the only one I know of is XFM but that's only in London and Manchester. Interestingly that's where Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Karl Pilkington and Russell Brand all started their careers.
